We finally had some rain...in fact we had a lot of rain and wind...which was perfect for crafting. I started early in the morning and worked on stuff throughout the day.
Made 2 more bottles. This one started out as a crescent moon but I screwed it up so I had to make it a full moon and then draw a tree in front of it to cover up my errors. I used all orange lights inside the bottle.
This one came out so good that I decided to keep it. Russell loved it too. My freehand skills aren't very good so I traced the castle and moon from a picture on my computer screen, then cut out the template and traced around it on the bottle before colouring it in. The only things I freehanded are the cat on the moon and the windows. Purple & orange lights inside.
Since I had the glue out in my craft room, I made a couple of keys.
And a key in a mini bottle too.
Finally finished the shells cross stitch. It took a bit longer than I'd expected when I started it in July. Now I need to find a frame to fit!
I had one bottle left to paint and was at a loss for a design. I tried to sketch some bats on paper but they didn't come out very good. I googled 'Halloween silhouettes' and I didn't see anything that floated my boat there either. I just wanted the project done so I did a simple triple moon with pentacle.
I felt that it was missing something and although I really suck at lettering and centering, I grabbed an alphabet stencil I had and managed to get the text on the bottle without screwing it up too bad.
Now I need more new projects!!
These are so awesome. All of it. My favorite lamp is the first one.
ReplyDeleteHave I mentioned that Sagan has the same Lambchops as Millie did? She had two. noticed I said--had. One big, one small. She ripped them both open and ate the stuffing, but I think I can fix the big one again. I think she'd like to see (eat) her old friend.
Thanks!!! Sagan loves his 'wamchop' as I call it. It's one of the few toys left that still has an intact squeaker. It's just too adorable when he greets me at the door, then runs into the livingroom, selects a toy and brings it to me. OMG. Esp. if it's wamchop.
DeleteThe Halloween bottles are so cool!! Love them. ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy!
DeleteThese are all so good ,I think you're getting even better at crafting. I'm still having problems getting on your site so that's why I haven't been around.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! Sorry to hear you are having problems with Blogger. :(
DeleteGood ones JoJo, especially the second bottle. Never been crafty myself so I admire someone who is.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo! It's a sickness really. :) I have to make things....it's a compulsion.
DeleteWow, those bottles are super cool JoJo!!! And I love the keys too. One day you'll have to do a tutorial about those bottles. Love, love, love 'em!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mimi! The bottles are pretty fun to do, but for the drilling part. That's a bit of a pain. One of my friends is coming over on Sunday so that I can show her how to do them. I love it that my friends are inspired to make things too.
DeleteYay! You can do a tutorial with your friend on Sunday! :D
DeleteYou mean like on video?? No no no no. This girl does not appear on camera under any circumstances. lol
DeleteI like the cross stitch and the keys! You're so fast with your crafts.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! To me it feels like I'm not going fast enough. Right now I have a craft pumpkin to attempt to carve, 53 acorn shells drilled to make acorn bead/marble pendants, and a snowflake cross stitch prepared and ready to stitch and no time to start any of them.
DeleteHey JoJo,
ReplyDeleteSorry about my lengthy absence in commenting on your blog. Oh, you never noticed! LOL
I'm totally mesmerised by your crafty, um, craft work. I love those glowing bottles.
Have a good one, eh!
Gary :)
Thanks Gary! Well we interact on Facebook so it's not like you've been totally out of touch. lol
