They seemed to be displayed kinda late this year, but at least they do them! I don't think it'd be fall without the scarecrows!!! I went downtown a couple of times to shoot them as they began to appear. Of course I am pretty far behind on these postings, as it's now November 4th but I started taking these pics on 10/18.
This one kinda creeps me out....It's like it's looking right at my camera.
This one is on my street. Such a cute scene!
I went back the weekend after the Harvest Train trip because the scarecrows placed along the train route had been moved to town.
Most of the telephone poles in town have corn stalks and scarecrows on them. It's really cute.
Harry 'Pot'ter.
Harry Pothead?
Love the scarecrows, but I think the rabbit is kind of creepy. Heehee
ReplyDeleteYes that rabbit is a bit creepy for sure! He was new this year.
DeletePeople do go to a lot of trouble don't they? Some are so much better than others. Thanks for sharing them JoJo.
ReplyDeleteYes they do and I appreciate their efforts! I like to see it....reminds me of a simpler time.
DeleteVery nice scarescrows, I like several of them. Thanks for taking the time to record them for us! I'd probably like making those. I made stocking heads when they were the latest craft and had one called Jacques. . .dried apple face stuffed life size 'dolls' were the rage here for a while, too. Crafters just want to have fun.
ReplyDeleteIf we owned this house I would probably do way more with the yard but I never have. I would rather someone else make the effort. lol
DeleteObviously a lot of people worked very hard to produce these, and it's certainly been well worth the effort :0)
ReplyDeleteYes it was worth the effort. It's nice to see it; gives BBay a real small-town feel.
DeleteThat table scene is adorable. But, I really loved the peg leg. That's super creative and so is the shopping cart one. What fun!
ReplyDeleteMost of them are gone now....we had a terrible storm so they may have blown away!
DeleteLovely collection of scarecrows!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing them every year.
DeleteThose are such precious scarecrows! I'd love for my area to have something like that.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you live? I love the small town feel that it gives my town. A real throwback to a simpler time.
DeleteHi JoJo,
ReplyDeleteHay, hay, I just love your post stuffed with some superb photos. Thanks and I wish we had a "fireworkscrow" to scare away the idiots who keep setting off fireworks in the streets over here.
Gary :)
Hey Gary! Thank you! I sure hope the Guy Fawkes celebrations are over soon....and don't last into the weekend.
DeleteI've never seen such ugly scarecrows, with a few adorable ones mixed in.
ReplyDeletexo
Quite a mix isn't it?
DeleteI love scarecrows this time of year! great pics jo jo!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tammy! :D
DeleteWow. Scarecrows are quite popular in BBay.
ReplyDeleteSonnia
Yes they are. They are pretty much all taken down now....or waterlogged and sagging. :(
