More Spring Shots!

I do love this train bridge.  It's one of my fave bridges in the USA.  I went for a walk on the Bourne side with Russell's cousin and we did 2 miles!  We're gonna try and do this as much as we can.

This cracked me up.  No, no it's not.

Under the Bourne Bridge, this is where we turned around.  I've done this walk on the other side quite a few times.

These white lilacs are in my mom's yard.  She told me that the bush was there when they moved in 1953!  It's the only white lilac I've ever seen.

I shot this pansy in Orleans.

Back in my yard, the flowers are once again putting on a beautiful show this year!

See the crescent moon on the left?

My yard smelled amazing while the lilacs were in bloom!!!  I wish lilac season was longer than that it bloomed more than once per season.

The snails are out now too.  This guy was teensy!!!!!

I have a feeling we are in for a real 'buggy' year, too.  Also, I yelped & screamed like a girl when a small snake slithered past my foot and disappeared under the truck.  That was new.  :-/   A lot of people have complained of black flies & mosquitoes, and I've been bitten every time I've been outside.  I wouldn't sit outside the other day because I saw too many inch worms.  I'm already seeing an indoor issue with ants and spiders and that is not acceptable.  And my big, tough, trucker hubby is just as afraid of spiders as I am so it's usually a, 'No, YOU do it...It's YOUR turn'-'Oh I beg to differ...' standoff whenever we see one in the house.  ;-)  I'm gonna need to make a pre-emptive strike around here to keep this from getting out of hand, especially when the crickets come out.

How are the bugs where you are?  Notice any increase?

Tiniest snail ever! I wonder why they put it wasn't a moat? My favorite bridge in the world is the Verazanno Bridge in NY. I love driving over it and seeing the Statue of Liberty in the distance.

  2. So pretty, your photos. Love them.

I need to kill a wasp nest that's next to my house and under a flower box. Not looking forward to that one.

  3. Funny how snails that tiny are cute, but as they get bigger and we start to notice the damage they've done to our plants and vegetable gardens, then they're no longer very cute.

Love all of the wonderful spring blossom photos - really lovely. Wish there were "smell-a-vision" so I could enjoy the fresh, sweet fragrance of those lilacs. :)

  4. Your photos are lovely, as usual - such a bright blue sky. We have been under clouds for days - but we need the rain to green things up around here. My lilacs have yet to bloom; the bushes are just getting leaves! We are so late with Spring this year, the mosquito level is nearly zilch, and other bugs seem to be down too (which is probably the only good thing from a cold Spring!)

Love the teenie snail!!! I have a couple of itsy bitsy ones in my aquarium - a given if you have live plants.

Last year my mother's garden was 'Snail/Slug Paradise City'. It was alive with the darn things. We found a colony of snails snuggled under the rim of a large planter she has a couple of days ago, today I found an ant's nest....but at least it's outside. Yep, 'Bug Season' seems to be underway on this side of the pond too!

  6. Yea, surely! This season was full of Indian wasp (you really don't want to be stung by them!), also ants are there and lizards everywhere!
When it gets colder they disappear, but now it is a peak season for them!
    take care of yourself, Jojo!

  7. Oh my, you love a train bridge. I hope the pansy you 'shot' in Orleans, survived :)

Nice pictorial, although, I can't see it while commenting.

No bugs here. They all drowned. Blasted British weather.

    A good Sunday to you.

  10. What a lovely collection of flowers. I wish I had flowers in my yard. That is one thing I hate about Spring/Summer is all the bugs. I like to sit outside but I usually stay inside to avoid being bitten up. I hope you enjoy your walks and that the bugs leave you alone this season :)
