The Gibbs House: A Sandwich Tradition

There is a wonderful & beloved family in town, the Gibbs, who decorate their yard every Christmas and let people tour through it.  All they ask is a canned food or monetary donation for the local food pantry.  I've driven by many times over the years but it wasn't till this year that we stopped to check it out. We'd had a bit of snow which was great!  I hope you enjoy the tour!

I have no idea where they got the painted wood cutouts of various Disney and other cartoon characters but they are so fun to see!

It's really magical

Their Giant is called 'Tree of Wonder' I think.  It's beautiful.  One of my top 5 faves.  I couldn't get enough of it.

I remember it was some time in the mid to late 70s that they started to go all out in their yard.  At least that's when I recall first being aware of it.  Over time they've grown and added more things.  To me, these look like they might be from the 70s era.

  2. How delightful that they share and also collect for charity. Now that's the spirit of Christmas! What a lot of work!

    1. It's a TON of work that's for sure. There have been some really bad family illnesses the past couple of years too but they persevere for the sake of the kids, town and food pantry.
