Pepper's been my gal pal since February 2003 when she was adopted from the Tacoma Pierce County Humane Society. We bonded almost right away and she was my constant companion from then until December 1, 2016. She was about 2 at the time of adoption, so she lived to a ripe old age. She was well traveled: Long Beach WA, Neilton WA, Cannon Beach OR and all across the country in 2011 from Washington to Massachusetts. She even went to Maine with us that fall.

She hated costumes, headgear and posting for corny photos.
She snuggled with me every night on my bed.
She went to my office quite a few times. My bosses Steve & Robyn, and my friend Debby, loved her too.

Romping at Scusset Beach. This is the way I want to remember her. In the past year she went downhill so much and could hardly walk anymore. But she did live 14 months longer than the ER vet gave her in September 2015 so that's something.
Such a sweet face, soulful eyes and velvety ears.
In the past couple of years, you could see that her spark was going.
But sometimes the old happy pup would come through.
She was trying to steal the empty pizza box. This is one of the last pics I took of her.
I miss her so much. I have her back though, in a nice cedar box and the place also sent a paw print in clay. And I have her collar and tags. Bye little Beanie. I will always love you.
I have always loved her pictures! Such a beautiful girl! xxx
ReplyDeleteAXE! It's been ages since you've been on the blogs and you disappeared off Facebook! Thanks....Pepper was a special girl.
DeleteYou were lucky to have found each other and spent so many happy years together! What a wonderful girl with a beautiful spirit.
ReplyDeleteI miss her so much it hurts. I keep bursting into random tears. Losing a pet is just the worst.
DeleteI must say that the photos show your love for each other. Dogs are special, some more special than others when they creep into your heart.
ReplyDeleteThank you, and she was so special. She's the first dog I ever owned and she was the perfect first dog for me. She was my little gal pal and would go on errands with me every weekend during the fall and winter in the Pacific NW (not too hot or too cold those seasons). If I went to work on a Sat or Sun, I'd take her with me.
DeleteShe was a very happy smiling dog and a wonderful companion on your journey´s. She was very good to you as you where to her.
ReplyDeleteThanks Elka. <3
DeleteLovely pictures of your favourite. I am so sorry you lost her, one of the sad things about owning animals. Does Sagan miss her too?
ReplyDeleteHe was very mopey the first few days and now he's very clingy. He doesn't want to be left home alone. If I can take him with me I do, but not when I go to my mom's. He'll knock her over.
DeleteWe lost our Cleo 5 years ago right around this time. She was 17 years ... so very hard to say goodbye. I still miss her, but I know we gave her a loving home. And it looks like Pepper had the same. She likes all the same beaches I do :) Cannon Beach is my home stomping grounds, and I always loved the beach across the Columbia in WA ... Long Beach. I remember flying kites there as a kid. No doubt Pepper knew she was loved and that she was part of your pack.
ReplyDeleteI love that area of the country! I miss it. Yes, Pepper had a great life and a lot of adventures.
DeleteAw. So sorry but glad you have happy memories and this is a nice salute post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanne. :)
DeletePepper is an adorable beautiful soul <3
ReplyDeleteHave a Merry Christmas :)
Thank you....she really was. A once in a lifetime type of dog. Merry Christmas to you too!
DeleteSo sorry JoJo. Love the pics and hearing about the happy times you spent together. I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas. Maybe Santa will bring you a bundle of love. I cant believe how much joy Max has brought us even though he is such a brat, lol. Hugs, LJ
ReplyDeleteThanks Lady Jane. I'm not ready for another dog just yet. I still have my German shepherd, Sagan, and I want him to get to be an 'only dog' for awhile. He's going to be 12 in March.
DeleteI'm so sorry, JoJo. Looks as though she lived a full life and was well loved. Sometimes I think that's the most we (humans and animals) can hope for.
ReplyDeleteCyber hugs to you.
Thanks Robyn. She was soooooo loved.
DeleteI feel sorry, JoJo. Hope you will come over this time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeno. I'm still really sad. I find myself still grabbing two biscuits instead of one (for my other dog) and saying, 'you guys want to go out?' It'll take time.
DeleteLove the Pepper pup photos, JoJo. Such a soulful face, I agree. You've honoured her here, may she RIP in doggie heaven. (All Dogs go to Heaven, don't you know) Merry Christmas to you and your family and I think that Christmas tree craft looks much better when you highlighted the tree. Best wishes to you for 2017. Thanks for visiting my blog when you can.
ReplyDeleteThanks DG. Merry Christmas to you and your family as well! Happy New Year!
