The east coast heatwave continues with horribly uncomfortable temps and humidity, and no end in sight. We desperately need rain. Only one day was nice and dry, so I went over to my friend Sue's for a few hours. She lives here in town on a fantastic piece of property on Bourne Pond. It's so idyllic that I told her if I lived there, I would literally never leave.
She has 3 adorable, white fluffy doggies that float around like little fuzzy clouds around your ankles.
Little moppet.
Side of their barn.
I loved the way she had the property decorated.
I'm not sure that anyone swims in the pond, but it's nice for kayaking or floating.
Looking straight up at the tree canopy
When I first moved here, I was driving around taking pics and I'd stopped to shoot this barn. I had no idea it was Sue's property at the time!
I loooove this view from her front yard.
Besides the Canal walk, this has been the sum total of my summer adventures this year. I'm just not willing to go out walking around when it's this miserable. Hoping for a cooler, dryer August.
Such beautiful photos and a beautiful place. I don't think I would leave either. I hope we all get some relief from this heat soon. Rain would also be nice but I've learned living in Idaho that rain is not something we get an abundance of but like you, we so desperately need it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yeah I'm inside as much as possible now. I hate this so much. I hate summer!
Deleteoh that does look splendid. I'm ready to run off the dock and leap into the water. Great pics and it does look like they have lots of cute outdoor decor and treats for the eyes. Love the gnomes, of course. Thanks for sharing your visit
ReplyDeleteI didn't take a pic of it, but she has a pool, which is better for swimming than that pond. Unless the ponds are really large with designated sandy beach areas, the bottoms tend to be really scummy with pine needles, muck and water fowl poop.
DeleteNow she could put a bed in her front or maybe back yard. Lovely place. Lovely pix of course. A friend of mine has a dog that looks just like the first pic.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I didn't see a hammock but that would be great too.
DeleteYour friend has quite the spot for relaxing in beauty. Her view is fabulous! Today's pictures, bound into a book, could rightly be named, "Summer is."
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! She really snagged a great piece of property, that's for sure. The house is cool too, it's an old farmhouse.
DeleteLove the greenery and flowers. So beautiful!! Is that a Maltese?
ReplyDeleteI would have to ask Sue. I wasn't sure what they were. There's the white poodle and the other 2 look alike but I wasn't sure of their breed. They are so adorable though. Fuzziest feet ever.
Deletethat is a beautiful place! and I'm with you on this heat ... let it rain already
ReplyDeleteI am so over this summer. It's the pits.
DeleteLooks like an ideal getaway spot, and I adore the doggies.
ReplyDeleteBe well, JoJo.
Thanks Robyn! You too!
DeleteI'm with you! I am pretty sure I'd never leave there either. She has a beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteShe sure does!
DeleteIt has been a very hot summer thus far here in Germany. I love those pictures of the pond!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am at my wit's end with this awful weather. I can't wait for fall.
DeleteHi human, JoJo,
ReplyDeleteAdorable fluffy dogs, garden gnomes and pawesome photos. What more could a dog wish to see. Lovely spot, fur sure.
Pawsitive wishes,
Penny :)
Thank you Penny! I think you would enjoy romping with the doggies in her yard!
DeleteIt has been so terribly humid out. Hot I can handle, but this humidity is just too much. I can't even go to this beach with it this bad. The sand is even too hot to walk on right now. But in a month, I'll be complaining about the cold. Let's hope this doesn't mean hurricane season will be rough.
ReplyDeleteI know. This summer has been the absolute pits. And now we're coming into August and I've done nothing and gone nowhere.
DeleteUgh, I meant to write the property is gorgeous! I don't think I'd leave there either. So serene!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is very serene. Best place in town.
DeleteI've been boiling alive for weeks now too. London is always a few degrees hotter than anywhere else. Your friend's place looks delightfully cool, not to mention picturesque.
ReplyDeleteIt was so great to relax over in her yard. The weather here continues to be hot and humid. It's been the worst summer ever.
DeleteJust knocking at your dog to say "I miss you."
ReplyDeleteThanks Robyn. I miss blogging too but I have nothing to feature. No day trips, no photos. Just a couple new stitching projects. Life continues to kick us while we are down.
DeleteI would never leave either! Very peaceful and beautiful place. Also, I can't help but love her puppies. Hmm they remind me of somebody. P.S. It's horribly hot here, too,
ReplyDeleteT
I would seriously never leave. Have my groceries delivered. lol
DeleteWho would want to leave an idyll like that? We stayed at Chatham on Cape Cod several years ago and didn't want to go home! (to London, England).
ReplyDeleteCLICK HERE for Bazza’s fabulous Blog ‘To Discover Ice’
You were in Chatham? I love that place. It's so beautiful especially in the fall. They are having some issues with sharks though.
DeleteWhat a beautiful spot. Lucky lady!!! Such precious doggies. Hugs, lJ
ReplyDeleteIt sure is. I can't believe I was there a month ago already. Time's flying by.
DeleteYeah if Sue was my friend, I'd be living with Sue! She'd have a hard time getting rid of me!
ReplyDeleteLOL She really does have the best piece of property in town!
DeleteHope all is well with you. Looks like you haven't posted for a while. I just got home the other day and it's hot here too. We probably need rain worse than you all do.

Tossing It Out
Hi Lee! I'm still around, reading the blogs every day but I haven't had much to post because all I do is watch TV, cross stitch and do errands. And bitch about the heat. lol
DeleteHi JoJo, was going to say what Arlee said :) But I know you're alive thanks to facebook, so that's good LOL! xx
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks Suzanne. Yeah I have to finish my blog post and get it up there. I've been such a slug. Trying to pull out of my funk.
