On The Street Where I Live

I took Pepper out for walkies and decided to bring my camera, since I don't really have many pics of my street.

First off...I love the title to this post; very clever. The photos are so beautiful with the colors you found. What are we looking at in the photo after the mailbox? I see a bit of blue...what is that? Thanks for including us on your walk with Pepper!

  2. I was hoping people would pick up on the title! lol

I know that pic is hard to see and tell what it is, but it's a wetlands area and someone put a small black arched metal arbor thingie in it. Not sure if it's trash or placed there on purpose, but it's interesting. I tried to get a better pic yesterday but failed.

I picked up on the title because that's a very romantic song and I'm a sucker for those. I see what you were trying to capture now in that one photo. It's interesting that you aren't sure if it was trash left by someone or not...which goes to show you the fact that you took the photo brings to mind the saying: "One man's junk is another man's treasure".

  5. What a gorgeous area you live in, a veritable paradise.

There's only one thing wrong with the song "On the street where you live" - in the film, they didn't let the actor sing it himself, even though he had a beautiful voice.

Ah, Jeremy Brett, he left us too young.

Words and Music by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe
from the Broadway musical "My Fair Lady"

I have often walked down this street before
But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before
All at once am I several stories high
Knowing I'm on the street where you live

Are there lilac trees in the heart of town?
Can you hear a lark in any other part of town?
Does enchantment pour out of every door?
No, it's just on the street where you live

And oh, the towering feeling just to know somehow you are near
The overpowering feeling that any second you may suddenly appear

People stop and stare, they don't bother me
For there's nowhere else on earth that I would rather be
Let the time go by, I won't care if I
Can be here on the street where you live

    Love it!

  9. I do love my neighborhood but I rue the day that we moved to this town. It's too crowded now and overdeveloped.

  11. You do take a quality photograph. Or rather series of quality photographs in rapid succession. Which takes some talent! Well done :D
