First Six Months Gone Already

I swear I just put my decorations away and now it's less than six months till Christmas.  I really need time to slow down already.

It's hot and humid....typical New England summer weather which I really can't stand.  Little Shadow's still visiting us for a couple nights each week.  She's so silly.  Now she will actually demand we go to bed.  She will sit in front of us and pant really loud, then walk down the hall to the bedroom....come back a few minutes later and repeat this till we finally go to bed.  Even if it's 8:30.  She's so silly.

I saw a big coyote trotting down the street in broad daylight.  So I was happy to see this mom turkey and her babies have managed to avoid it.  

Reminded me of the beginning of 'The Partridge Family'.

Everyone's fave babby is 3 months old already and starting to smile and giggle a lot.  My daughter in law sends me pics and videos just about every day.  I always refer to him as a babby, not baby.  😍

This is another Russian bead embroidery that was a free gift with one of the kits I ordered.  Came with the little frame and a magnet for the back.  Knocked this off in an afternoon.

I was trying to replicate a San Francisco Victorian colour scheme and motif.  

My windchimes broke so I refashioned them on a piece of driftwood and added the mirrors. 

I love this Russian bead embroidery kit. 

It's hard to put down.

Craft table:  Cluttered but comfy.

My mother in law gave me the green, blue and red floats.  Does she know me or what?  😊

Now if time could just slow down, that would be great.

You Knew I Couldn't Stay Away....

Since my stitching projects are taking awhile, I needed an 'instant gratification' kit to knock together. This took about 3 days and is a fridge magnet which I gave to one of my friends.

So my cheapo diamond painted peacock is done and looks really pixelated. 

Turkeys in the neighbour's yard one morning.

I was killing some time downtown last week and...well...one thing lead to another and I found myself at the salt marshes at low tide to look for more glass.  

I never actually stopped to look at this before.

Hard to get a good photo though.  It's a map of the glass factory.

You can see it much better in this map I have on my wall.

You can even see where the boardwalk is.  So all those marshes near where the factory was are loaded with glass.  

This was a little troubling....I find it hard to believe that live clams would intentionally beach themselves at low tide in the sun.  I couldn't tell if they were still alive but the tide was coming in and they'd be covered by water.  I really hope someone didn't dump them there cause they are undersized. What a horrible waste.

My third haul from that location.  Very pleased with everything.

I gave up my spot to a couple of friends so that they can pick up where I left off and I hope they find some great treasures too!  Just waiting for warmer weather cause I AM going into that creek at low tide to see if there's anything left.

Turkeys in the Trees

I took Sagan out in the late afternoon, the day after the snowstorm, and noticed how pretty the moon was so I had to get a snappy.

I was just sort of scanning the sky and trees, killing time till the sunset, when I noticed these huge lumps at the tops of the trees at the end of the street.  While I have heard that turkeys roost in trees at night, I've never actually seen it.  

These are some pretty big birds....the flock that roams around my neighbourhood. 

I walked back to the house and then decided to glance up into the trees behind my house.  Shocked to see them in the trees there too and I have to admit, it was a little weird and disconcerting for some reason.  They are just sooooo big.

Still killing time waiting for the sunset.

I know I posted this last year but I keep trying to get a shot that looks like this.  Unfortunately I think this is a drawing or painting and not a real photo.  I also realized that this is probably sunrise, not sunset.  I just can't get the snow and trees to look more blue at sunset.  

But it still looks pretty anyway.

I loved the rainbow reflections too.

Hopefully by the time this publishes, a lot of the snow will be washed away.
