So the latest fad over on Facebook is a new app called Bitstrips. It started out on the smartphones over the summer but they absolutely exploded at the end of October. I'm not joking when I say 'exploded'....the developer's server crashed and it was down for 5 days. Some people are annoyed by seeing them on their newsfeeds, but I love them. They crack me up.
You design an avatar for yourself from a huge variety of body choices. I wish a tie dye shirt had been available but they only had solids.
You can also design an avatar for a friend that doesn't have one yet, so I made one of Russell. Complete with his trademark red shirt. There is a huge selection of comedic situations you can put yourself and your friends in.
The facial expressions change depending on the cartoon....that's nothing I'm doing. So it's always a surprise to see what it will look like when your characters appear into your selected comedic scene.
This one is so frickin spot on that I can't stop laughing every time I see it. I haaaaate grocery shopping but he loves it, and it's become a bit of a running joke about how I won't let him go to Stop & Shop without a chaperone. The facial expressions are so us. I'm grumpy and whiny, and he's eagerly pointing out the sales "We should stock up on these!" and cuts of meat "Oh babe! Look at this 7 bone steak!"
My friend Sarah and I were playing around one morning near Halloween.
Mercury retrograde pretty much sucked this time around.
I couldn't resist making this one of me and my bff Mary. I couldn't believe they had a Bitstrip set up of a playground slide accident. I actually did break my wrist and get a concussion when I fell off the slide during recess in 6th grade. I've never had luck with slides and I avoid them, but I had to put my Bitstrip avatar in this!!!
Biodome: Worlds. Worst. Movie. He loves it, I hate it.
Anyway, I'm having a good time with them! If you have a smartphone, you can access the app that way too!
