Our fourth and final stop was Longfellow's Wayside Inn, which dates to the early 1700's and is the original building. You can still stay there and the downstairs is a restaurant in all the different rooms. It's quite lovely. So was the foliage.

I never read this book but maybe I will now that I've been here. However, to be honest, I find almost all 'classic literature', both American and British, to be extremely boring and dry.
There is one room downstairs where you can view period pieces as it looked in colonial times.
This is upstairs. I assume this is a function room and still in use.

This is an embroidery of the beginning of the Revolutionary War which of course started in this area.

I give this part of Sudbury two thumbs up. It's beautiful and quite a sight in the fall.
