Continuing on with crafts, I finished this up after a marathon session one afternoon when the nipper showed up 6 weeks early and took everyone by surprise, especially the mother!!!
I'd done a bunch of paint-pour ornaments, one of which was pink, so I decided to add the puffy paint with her name. The back says '2014', and there are 2 heart shaped rhinestones on either side.
And of course I couldn't just take the easy way out and buy a card.
This is the inside of the card.
I saw a tutorial for a Pet Ghost in a Jar HERE, and decided to put one together. It took way less time than I expected it would and I had to fudge a few things but it came out so CUTE! I did use the battery operated tealight under the lid like in the instructions but it isn't very bright at all.
More steampunk keys. My craft shows are coming up soon so I thought I'd make some more. I forgot how time consuming it is to make them.
More paint-pour ornaments. They are still hard to get total coverage, despite multiple coats and drying them in the oven. Then of course I broke out the rhinestones, mostly to hide the flaws in the paint.
I saw a thumbprint reindeer ornament on Pinterest so decided to give it a try.
I'd also been wanting to try these chocolate kiss pumpkin cookies. I was underwhelmed by the results. For one, I had to cut the recipe in half because I didn't want 5 dozen cookies, so I think I may have screwed up on the measurements. They came out kind of bland and dry. I only had dark chocolate kisses instead of regular. I hate throwing them in the trash but I really don't think I'm going to eat them.
We're still having such nice weather that I'm back out there, eeking out as many walks as possible before winter sets in for good.
Wow! You have been really busy making lots of really cool stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy! I tell you it's a sickness. lol My craft table is pretty scary right now. 2 plates of rocks, shells & glass, a new cross stitch I've been commissioned to do for a friend, lists of what I need to do for the craft fair.....
DeleteSounds like you've got lots of work ahead of you JoJo. Congratulation everyone on the birth of Kelsea.
ReplyDeleteLucky you being able to get dark chocolate kisses. For some reason they don't sell them here, lots of other types, milk, caramel, etc. but not dark choc.
I had leftover from my wedding favours, which I needed the purple wrapped kisses and they happened to be the dark chocolate. I prefer the regular kisses but those were in silver wrappers!
DeleteAt least today I got those 2 plates of rocks & stuff sorted into their proper containers and prepped the new cross stitch, plus a few other things cleaned up.
I think the ghost in a jar is my favourite :0)
ReplyDeleteThanks. He really is adorable. It's amazing what a set of googly eyes will do for a handful of fiberfill wrapped around wire. lol
DeleteYour pet ghost in a jar is adorable. I'd never heard of or seen one before. It looks like it wants to be free, but I wouldn't open the lid. You can never trust a ghost.
ReplyDeleteBe well, JoJo.
Thanks! Yes my wee ghostie would like to fly around but I'd have a hard time catching him again so he's staying in the jar!
DeleteOh, my. Such lovely pieces. I liked all of them. You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteThank you ! And thank you for stopping by my blog! :)
DeleteLoved all the photos. Thanks for sharing, looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much & for stopping by!
DeleteWow, love the cross stitch - well done JoJo! You sure have been busy - especially since it's still nice out! We have had a great week of warm weather, but the cool rains are coming this weekend... good time to get crafty again ;) Shame about the cookies, but they DO look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm happy to say that the mom loved the stuff too and the ornament arrived in one piece so that's great news.
DeleteWell I ended up doing a confectioner's sugar glaze on a couple cookies to see if that helped and it really did. Plus being inside the tupperware seems to have moistened them up!
