King Richard's Faire, Part 1

Hear ye! Hear ye!  It's our 4th annual trip to King Richard's Faire in Carver, MA!

There seemed to be way more people dressed up in costumes this year.

That's the official Queen & King on the left, and another noble 'lady' on the right.

It's quite the mashup of medieval role players, pirates, fairies, witches, elves, wenches, scary executioner-types and musicians, including bagpipers that were playing the Star Wars theme.

Washer women wenches.

My adorable husband in his happy place with a turkey leg and beer.

This was quite the backpack.

And he was dragging around his dead 'cat'.

So many shops.  So many things we all wanted to buy!

Pirate ship swings.

  1. For a republican country you do get your kicks out of royalty. I enjoyed the costumes - a dead cat??? What was he, death?

    1. Well royalty that isn't real. Try to implement a real king or queen over America and watch all hell break loose.

  2. Love the imagination that goes into all the preparation and costumes. I went to a couple of these back in college days and enjoyed them. But I wouldn't have wanted to live back then. (poor medicine and plumbing) Thanks for sharing the photos, JoJo.

    1. Oh believe me, I prefer the nice, clean, sanitized version of the middle ages seen here!!! No way would I have liked to live in those days for real.

    1. Russell is a pretty happy man now. I've only known him this way, but apparently that wasn't always the case before we got together. lol

This reminds me of the Renaissance Festivals back in Michigan. Great times always and I always dressed up and I always got that turkey leg n' beer too! Lol..

    1. It's too much work and expense to dress up...plus I don't want people taking my picture! lol You can rent costumes, but we were even discussing who wore them beforehand and how they are cleaned....IF they are cleaned!
