Got hammered with another blizzard on the night of the 15th. They were still unable to really get a read on the track of the storm, other than the fact that the Cape and coast would take the brunt of it. We got stuck in the 6"-12" range.
This picture cracks me up. Confirmed Bumbles sighting in Buzzards Bay. Or, Bumbles Bay. OK that's not really BBay.
It started snowing early in the afternoon, so we got the generator all ready and ran the extension cord into the house. They were saying it'd be a very wet and icy storm with lots of hurricane force gusts, so a larger chance of power outages. We lucked out though, because Bourne didn't end up getting as much as Sandwich did. They got 15", we got about 6". I didn't even have to shovel my way out of the house! When I took Pepper out at 3:00 AM, it was already over, and we woke up at 7 to a gorgeous morning.
We were already plowed, but I still had to clean off the car and shovel around it.
Later in the day, the light got otherworldly.
Especially with the snowy trees against the sky.
This was later in the afternoon. I was hoping for a nice, red sunset but not that night.
Screw that mess. I thought we got hit hard. Not compared to you. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who lifts their windshield wipers up! ha ha
ReplyDeleteI had covered parking out in Washington (and it didn't snow in California) so having to clean off my car is new to me again. As I drove through my neighbourhood right before storms hit, I noticed everyone had their wiper blades up, so I got home and did it. It's brilliant. So much easier to clean off the windshield and the blades aren't frozen to the car.
DeleteOh wow. That is a lot of snow.
ReplyDeleteYes..yes it is. Stay tuned for pics from my mom's house in Sandwich. They are buried over there. I even got stuck in my stepdaughter's driveway. She had to shovel and push me out. lol
DeleteWow, JoJo. I think I can do fine with watching your snow pix. It's mild here in Vancouver BC. I remember winters like that though. Great snow pix.
ReplyDeleteIf only I could get my entire contingent of friends and family to relocate to the Pacific NW, that would be so awesome. lol
DeleteLove the Bumble pic...
ReplyDeleteSorry JoJo, we have you beat - for us that is a light dusting. But of course it's all what you are used to. Beautiful photos! Hope Spring comes soon for ya; me, I am loving the snow and don't mind when it lasts throughout March.... or May....
What I fear is that we're gonna go from this right to hot and humid. That's what happened last year. We had virtually no spring. I feel like a prisoner in my house 4 months in winter and 4 months in summer.
DeleteI am with you!! Sick of snow but I am loving your amazing pictures!! WOWSA!!! And I love that one with Bumble on it. LOL Today it is 45 degrees here and it feels like a hot summer day to me. LOL I took trash out at work, the sun was shining and of course snow ass deep but I felt like laying in it! LOL
ReplyDeleteWell now it's changed over to rain so it's a soupy mess from hell out there. I just want it to warm up to 60 and I'll be happy.
DeleteSo beautiful though JoJo!!! Your pictures are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :D
DeleteWell it's makes for beautiful photos. Right? We are enjoyed (for once in months) a stint of 40-60 degree days. Of course I have the stomach flu and can't enjoy it
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope you feel better soon! That's no fun at all. :(
DeleteI can understand how you'd be sick of that weather, but it makes for some nice photos.
