Mr. Borden was killed downstairs, and about an hour after his wife, Abby was killed. However, the tour started on the ground floor and moved upwards. This is Abby's room. She was changing the linens on this bed when she was attacked.
And murdered right here.

This is the dress that actress Elizabeth Montgomery wore in the 1975 movie, "The Legend of Lizzie Borden".
Looking downstairs
Lizzie is on the left. I can't remember if that's her sister Emma on the right.
This sick little doll is in the curio cabinet in what was Lizzie's room. By the way, this place is a Bed & Breakfast and you can stay overnight in any of these rooms. I would never stay there. I admit, I'm a chicken.

Exquisite ribbon embroidery.
Small third floor bedroom.
Also on the third floor. I was most uncomfortable up here, especially in the maid's room.
Looking down the back stairs.
Back hallway. This was when my camera started to spazz out.
Kitchen
Looking down at the basement from the outside of the house.
I hope you enjoyed this tour of the famous Borden home!
I find it really hard to get my head round this being a B&B as well as a museum. Some piece of heritage!
ReplyDeleteWell, Fall River really doesn't have much to bring tourism money into the town, so they are more than happy to host ghost hunters, tourists, guests, psychics, etc. The only other claim to fame that poor town has is Battleship Cove.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean you'd never spend the night?! I would in a heartbeat--at least, if I had someone with me. Let me know if you ever reconsider.
ReplyDeleteNo, I won't reconsider on staying there. There's no way I'm staying there in the dark. It's bad enough I got a splitting headache there for just a couple hours in the day.
ReplyDeleteLoved the tour in these last few posts but that freakin' doll will be in my nightmares!
ReplyDeleteStay overnight???!! Not in this lifetime thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a fun tour, but I'm with you I could never stay there!

I want to stay there! I wouldn't get a wink of sleep, but I'd love it.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't pay me to stay there. That one doll reminds me of something out of a Tim Burton movie.
