For this walk, I drove down to the scenic view point and service road access in Bournedale. That's the Sagamore, not Bourne, Bridge. They look alike.

Sagamore Bridge and Power Plant in Sandwich.
Under the bridge.
I've been told this is poison ivy. Now I know what to avoid.
Another cormorant airing out his pits.
U.S. Submariner Memorial
Then I walked across Scenic Highway to take pics at Barlow's Clam Shack.
Loved this cute little set up at the motel next door.
You can put your face in the hole and be a lobstah!
Cool whale done like scrimshaw.
Old truck next to the Clam Shack
These hot dog statues squirting condiments on themselves both fascinate and repel me. Not only is it gross that they are using ketchup and mustard on themselves, the bottom part of the dog is a bit phallic.
Wicked good lobstah rolls. Or so the sign says. I don't eat lobstah.
Remember, to err is human, to arr is pirate.
ARRRH! Love the pics; great POVs! What a scenic area. You are right about the hot dog; hmmmm.... very, er, weird!
ReplyDeletePretty flutterby. Looks like our tortoiseshells. Always amazes me how similar some life forms are either side of the Pond.
ReplyDeleteYou live in the most beautiful part of our country! Now I need to look up that saying about poison ivy - "If it's three, let it be...something something something" LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL, your pirate comment. The butterfly and flower were both lovely. I didn't know that's what poison ivy looked like - it looks so innocent and harmless! :-)

Awesome pictures!
ReplyDeleteHa! Loved all of it, even the weird and gross hot dog dude. That is strange, but cool, too. Love the truck, love the lobstah roll sign, love all that kitschy stuff. And you know what? No matter how often I see a picture of poison ivy I STILL have problems id-ing it. D'oh.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteCathy, I am highly allergic to poison ivy so at least now I know what to look for. I always thought they had jagged edge leaves but they don't. I'm terrified of getting it again.
I agree with you about the hot dog - it's perverted and creepy!! Love all the other photos - and what do you mean you don't eat lobstah? For real? I'm drooling just thinking about a good lobstah roll!
