I've always loved the Tesla Coil light balls, after seeing them in an art display in Boston, back when I was in college. My ex got me one for Christmas one year, which was a surprise because I never mentioned my wanting one before, but I was happy to accept it. It's survived several moves without breaking, and must be almost 20 years old by now. Technically I think it's called a Plasma Lamp, but I've always called it a Tesla ball.
Groovy, eh?
Very!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted one of those! Very groovy. :)

ReplyDeleteGreat abstract photos
ReplyDeleteMy creative writing teacher brought one of those in to class when I was in school. He turned out the lights and told us to interact with the ball then play out whatever science fiction idea it inspired.
ReplyDeleteAfter 10 minutes of playacting, he stopped us, turned on the lights, and told us to spend the rest of class writing the ending to the story we had just come up with.
It was entertaining and did a lot for my on-the-spot writing!
I've never saw one, but looks great A good T post.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.

I had one, but alas it broke. Amazing to watch in the dark. But I think the power consumption is quite high--please correct me if I am wrong?
ReplyDeleteSonnia, I think he bought it at radio shack.
ReplyDeleteI don't use it hardly ever so I don't know about the power consumption.
They are amazing and very addictive.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! Wouldn't mind having one!
