Last week, we had our first wind storm of the fall/winter season. Bonney Lake was one of the communities that took the brunt of the storm, with wind gusts of 55 mph, but fortunately everything was fine at my house and now that we have a generator, power outtages are no longer an issue.
You all know how much I love being out on the water on boats of all kinds. However, after seeing these pictures of the Ferry Cathlamet, taken last week during the storm, I have to say that I would not want to be on a ferry in these conditions. I wonder how many cars in front got soaked? I hope everyone had their windows up!
ooooh, looks like fun!!! i took the ferry across the delaware bay and it was really rough.
ReplyDeleteit was sooooooo cooooool!
I'd have been puking. I'm a wimp on the water. But we did take a ferry on vacation there in the summer when the boys were little. I have some cute pictures of our northwest adventure. The good ol' days...
ReplyDeleteOh My God, it looks like it's going to tip over!
ReplyDeleteWhoah, what a wild ride!!
ReplyDeleteIts kinda "Perfect Storm"-ish, huh? LOL!
You mean the water can get inside the ferry? Sounds like a recipe for disaster. We had one of those some years ago...
ReplyDeleteThe ferry is hollow in the center where you drive your cars on and off. Waves can wash up on the car deck b/c it's closest to the water, but wouldn't sink the ferry like other closed ferries have sunk.
ReplyDeletei will be north of seattle soon, seeing my great pal. hopefully i can take another ferry ride, weather permitting.
ReplyDeletewow! i've never seen one so far o/o the water like that b4.
ReplyDeleteyou remember the one in new york a few years ago that crashed into the dock? i had a friend who was on it and got one of his fingers cut off. they were able to reattach it, and he got a nice chunck of change from it too;)
