These are two of my top fave characters played by Vincent. How could you not love Bill in "Mystic Pizza"? Actually the question really is, how could JoJo not want to marry sweet Bill? With thanks to Fezzi for the pictures.
Charley from "Crooked Hearts" is the angst ridden, tortured bad boy, which is a major turn-on too. I've always been one to like the bad boys, so I was instantly attracted to Charley. With thanks to Jill & Eliza for the pictures.
Other than Bobby Goren, what are your fave Vincent roles?
I have always thought that Bill was so sweet!I also like him as Hathaway.Very strong, blunt and aloof...love the Van Dyke!Love Sam in Happy Accidents as well, quirky, sweet, fun.Oh,and in Altar Boys....I have this dark defrocking fantasy...poor priest.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had more VDO films, some I just haven't bought,"Naked Tango" in particular.
I have the Erotic Tales...though I wanted to see more than I did.
Sam is my favorite. Tony is also right up there at the top. He did a great job of being blind.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Olee! I loved him as well! Thanks for the reminder vpdzoo! :)
ReplyDeletei have to say Bob. even tho it's a horribly heart wrenching movie, he does such a fabulous job portraying him and making me fall in luv with him. i also like him in Bark, I can't remember his name in it, but he was so odd and funny;)
ReplyDeleteLet me see...my favorite VDO "character"(s)...mmmm...I'd have to say, "Sam"-he's soo adorable ; "Olee"--awesome performance as a blind person and very sexy in those sweatpants; "Bob"--He's excellent in this roll, the passion he put into the character and the kissing!; "Valentino" is just...there are no words--that hair, those eyes...I have more to say but I would be here all night!!
ReplyDeleteOh sorry, and I do agree with jojo, about "Bill", when he wrinkles his nose...there's just no comparison!
ReplyDeleteAnd you wonder why I hate "Mystic Pizza."
ReplyDeleteABBIE!!! (Gee, bet that's a surprise!)
ReplyDeleteSam Deed my fav movie character, but I love VDO best as BG.
ReplyDeletehmm... honestly i havent seen a lot of vincent roles...
ReplyDeletei liked the whole wide world. he was good in that. he was also pretty good in the cell- to be able to play someone so messed up in the head takes skill.

ReplyDeletegoogle is being a P in the A.
I liked him in Stuart. Especially the scene where as he's getting into the police car he yells, "Just cancel the reception." It was the comedic and desperate way he said it that cracked me up. Not used to seeing him in funny roles.
as if you had to ask... huh!

Bobby Bobby I love him so much, but for performances, vdo's best in my book has to be REH (oh and guess who wrote about him again today... lol).
ReplyDeleteI do have a penchant for Valentino and Whitney, 2 such sweet characters and for the bad boys I try to fight off Cholo, Mr Blue and the Prof.
I'm having a brain cramp but I liked him best in The Salton Sea
ReplyDeleteOh wait! I remember, Pooh Bear.
ReplyDeletePOOH BEAR!That was a REALLY f*cked up character...but the squeaking at all the mean moments were worth it.They make me laugh every time!
ReplyDeleteI want a lot of VDO films but it seems they have NOT been released on dvd or cost a fortune as video cassettes.
Wow! Everyone picked great roles!!!
ReplyDeleteOK,I'm coming to this a bit late but...
ReplyDeleteOlee,Abbie,Stargher,Pooh Bear,Ashton,Whitney,Bob Howard,Cholo.....I think thats it where absolute favourites are concerned, but there could be more :-)
I seem to have a liking for flawed characters
Eliza xxxxx
Those two blond boys, Whit and Ash.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love both Sam from Fires Within (although it's a sucky movie) and Sam from Happy Accidents.
The actor,s versatility is what caught my interest.Have only seen one film I hated.THE FIRST TURN ON.
ReplyDeleteTerrible film and VDO isn't in it very much.
Watched NAKED TANGO every day for a week when I first got it.
