"Blizzards" Bay

Now that it was sunny and the roads were plowed, it was time to get a few errands done in town. The snow was piled everywhere, making the streets narrow and obstructing the view when you tried to pull out of driveways, streets or onto the rotary.  People were driving like it was summertime, which I'm sorry, they are just asking to be in accidents.  No turn signals, going way too fast for the slushy/icy conditions.

My bank, across the street over there, wasn't even plowed out.  Street parking was next to impossible so I had to park at the Marine Life Center and gingerly walk along the edge of Main Street, hoping no one would hit me or splash slush all over me.

Headed home.

I was starting to go a bit stir crazy so I went out to take a walk and take pics.  Unfortunately, you've seen one snow pile and snowy street, you've seen them all.  I kept raising the camera up to shoot but it all seemed redundant.

I do love these bird houses.

Huge pile in front of a house.

Finally, here's a good indicator of the height of the snow piles, against the street sign.

I am sooooo over winter.

  1. Poor JoJo. At least here everything gets plowed quickly and you can get where you want to go and park when you get there. Actually I was staggered at the snow piles in our local mall after just one snow storm. What the heck they are going to do for the rest of the winter, I can't imagine. Loved the bird houses.

    1. They just couldn't keep up with the plowing. Even after the travel ban was lifted, the Gov. asked people to stay off the roads. Oh yeah the snow piles at the shopping centers are insanely high too. You have to be so careful not to get clipped by someone b/c you can't see!

    1. YOU are over winter??????? YOU who wishes for snow????? :O lol Aren't those bird houses adorable? They look even cuter in the spring when everything's green and in bloom. I'm not really sure why that street was given the name Rip Van Winkle. There's also a Van Brummel. This area isn't exactly known for any kind of Dutch heritage at all. There's also a Vedder Street but I call it Eddie Vedder Street or sometimes Eddie Cheddar Street. I know, I'm weird.

    1. Not so much no. More snow today and then next week's forecast is literally snow Every. Single. Day. Meanwhile my beloved Washington is sunny and in the 50s. I need a winter home out there.
