Lazy Hazy Dayz

The weather this summer has been the best in the four summers I've now been here.  There are humid stretches but they are punctuated by dry days too.  Even if it's warm out, that's fine, as long as it's not wicked humid on top of it.

We had a gorgeous, orange Supermoon on the 12th.

Got up on the 13th to a very warm day and although I was exhausted, I had to take a walk in the morning hours before the Harry Potter movie marathon continued on TV.  I didn't want to miss the movies but also didn't want to waste nice weather by staying indoors all day.

I love these two shop signs.

Instead of my usual trek around Main Street, I went down Academy Drive, to the Taylor's Point Marina  & Mass Maritime area.  I could watch the water reflections dance off the boat hulls for hours.

Or as they would say it here in Massachusetts, "Hahbahmastah".  ;-)

Isn't this the cutest little railroad bridge?  It's in someone's yard.

Peace maaaaan.

I would love to have a lighthouse in my yard!

Love this poster....makes it look really retro.  The Barnstable County Fair has been around for 169 years! I used to go every year as a kid....and Russell worked the fair with Coke up till he left the company.  But I really have no interest in going now.  Too many people, too much traffic and way too hot.  I don't ride the rides anymore and I know I'll end up spending money on more bric-a-brac I don't need!

  1. Great pictures as usual. Such a nice area in which to live. I just learnt today that one is no longer supposed to take stuff away from any beaches any more. Does that apply in the US?

    1. Thanks! If that applies in the USA they will have a really hard time enforcing it. I do know that Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, CA has prohibited the taking of beach glass anymore. Beach combing is a passion of a lot of people here, they'd never get us to stop.

  2. May I ask what camera do you use, and what kind of lens? Just curious.

  3. Thanks for the Supahmoon piccie, i didn't get to see it, alas. You're right about the weather, I'm grateful for the not-so-goth-awfully humid summer the northeast's been seeing, so far. Fingers crossed it'll stay sane like this! We have seen some wicked awesome thunderstorms, though. :-)

    1. We've been light on t-storms this year up here which is just fine with me. We've had rain, but I can only remember a couple of thunder bumpers so far. We just have to get through one more month with hopefully dry weather!

  4. Lovely photos JoJo... beautiful days!

Ha! You should definitely make your own lighthouse... or at least a replica of your favorite bridge...

    1. I don't have the construction or engineering skills to make a lighthouse unfortunately. But lots of places around here sell ones you can put in your garden and that's the route I'd probably take!

  5. Gorgeous photos, m'dear! Those roses? Beautiful. That poster? Worth framing! Glad you got out for some fresh air before Harryizing yourself.

    1. I think those are roses.....I'm not very good at flower identification. I do love that fair poster but I couldn't reach it to snatch it off that phone pole. Not that I would do that. *cough* lol

  6. I like the water reflection photograph too, JoJo. We see what the impressionists saw. Monet came from a seacoast town.

(Hubs is improving slowly but they can't tell how fast or slow recovery will be. Hence, I'm blogging slower during the summer. Thanks for asking, I am still in shock.)
And speaking of scooping a great poster, we 'might' have done that once that I remember. Hubs had a smooth move of putting on jacket and surprise, his jacket had a poster in it. . .

    1. I have always said that I could never and would never live in a landlocked state. Even being in Washington, 3-4 hours from the Pacific, was difficult and while Puget Sound is picturesque, it's not the same as living on the coast.

  7. It always amuses me to see all the familiar place names, like Sandwich and Barnstaple.

    1. Ours is Barnstable though, with a B. Yeah the Pilgrims may have wanted to escape religious persecution in England but they named their towns after British ones!
