Fairhaven, Part 2

Continuing our architectural tour of Fairhaven, this is their town hall! How cool would it be to work here?

I think this is the library.

Fairhaven High School

Reminded me a bit of Hogwarts.

Well I'll be darned, these are in Mass. I never would have guessed. I love the sun (I think that's what it is) at the top of the school. Very neat. What a cool town. Great find.

    1. Truly hidden gems because if you saw Fairhaven from I-195, all you'd wanna do is get through it cause it's really run down and ugly over on that side. I had no idea this part of town existed.

  3. JoJo, wonderful photos, you do have an eye for capturing the beauty of nature and the small yet powerful details that we so often overlook.
Fairhaven is an architectural delight and that High School looks like it could be an Ivy League University.

    1. Thank you so much! I really have to be honest - it's 50% the camera, 45% the subject I'm shooting and 5% me....all I do is point and shoot.

  4. There seems to be a bit of gothic in that architecture, which I like. Detail is what makes a building interesting. Great photos, JoJo, and what beautiful structures you have shown us. Kudos to the town for keeping heritage buildings intact and in good shape. My faves of your pix: #6 . That high school does have that 'venerable' aura like Hogwarts.

    1. Due to the historical structures and so forth, we have more protected buildings and areas than in other states. Some homeowners piss and moan about it because that means not being able to build or paint the way one may want to; the Historical Districts have to approve everything. You can't even have window air conditioners visible from the streets in some places.

I still think you should be a professional photographer; you have such a great 'eye'!

  7. While we fare much better in terms of the weather on the west coast, you've the impressive architecture and history. I'll still take our weather, but I'm really appreciating your tours, JoJo.

    1. Thanks Robyn! I admit I always got a chuckle out of the 'established in' signs as you enter west coast towns. 1857, 1865....mere babies compared to this side. But I'd rather have your weather.

  8. Dude, I LOVE all this groovy architecture! And yeah, I'd really dig working in a space like that town hall, especially if there are benches nearby a body can sit and enjoy lunch while enjoying the splendor...

  9. Hi human, JoJo,

While Gary is sleeping, I've taken over the computer, once again. I consider the architecture in your region to be most fascinating. Kind of a spooky, Gothic ambience to it. As for Hogwarts, I can see what you mean. My human brother's high school has that sort of look.

    All the beast, um best,

    Penny :)

    1. Hi Penny! I'm glad you enjoyed the pics! This is the oldest area of the USA so there are lots of creepy places to see. There is actually a castle high school in Tacoma, Washington, called Stadium High School. It's fabulous.

  13. Wow, I'd love to work there, except town hall would have politics right? Count me out no matter how gorgeous or historic the building is. Love the sconces, and that cow, and the shadow of the fence...beautiful place. I sure like your tours, JoJo.
