Edward Gorey House, Part 1

The Edward Gorey House is located on Strawberry Lane, off Rte. 6A, in the village of Yarmouth Port.

One side of The Doubtful Guest.

And the other side.

There's a graveyard for the Gashlycrumb Tinies kids under a huge magnolia tree.

On the porch.

Loved the stained glass pieces.

So delightfully macabre!  He collected all kinds of eclectica, which, of course, really appeals to me.

You say hello to Edward now.  Say it!  This is the urn with his cremains.

He was as eccentric as he was talented, and wore that large fur coat.

To be continued!

  1. I'm enjoying the tour, JoJo, and I like Gorey's eclectic tastes, too. I like that small piece of a wall with a door on the porch. (for the tinies, I assume. . .)

But for you, I wouldn't know about this guy. Thanks for sharing, especially the photos. BTW - I had an old full-length fur coat in art school, too.
