I was really stuck for the letter "K" for our Alphabetical April Blogging Challenge, so I thought I would revisit a few photos of Kalaloch Beach, in Washington State. Since I've been posting so many east coast beach photos since moving back, and I have new readers, I wanted to show how much wilder the Washington Coast is than here.
I shot these in March, 2010. Kalaloch is pronounced "Clay-lock", and the original blog post is HERE. It was an almost 4 hour drive from my former home in Bonney Lake, near Tacoma, out to the Olympic Peninsula coastline, but SO worth it!
The beaches on the coast are littered with beach logs, and you never ever want to turn your back to the Pacific Ocean. Beach logs will kill and they are tossed ashore by the waves.

Kalaloch Lodge. I didn't stay inside the main building, but in a cute cabin on the property.
The sun sets into the Pacific Ocean.
What lovely pictures! I'm only surprised you didn't do 'K for Keanu' ;0)
ReplyDeleteLOL Diane! I never even thought about Keanu!!! I admit, I'm so incredibly smitten with Russell that I have eyes for no one else....
ReplyDeleteYou've some really great photos there JoJo. I really like the one of the big logs. The one looks like it's giving the peace sign to the sky. I also love the one of patterns in the wet sand.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I have never been out to that part of the country, so I would not have known how wild it is! Do the beach logs really injure people? I mean, I can see where having one of those land on you would do some damage, but who knew?
Great post! And thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog (A to Z)!
Gorgeous photos, JoJo!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Those are some really nice photos. And I am kind of scared of the beach logs. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteWow those are beautiful pictures. It sounds so wild there. :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. What huge logs, are they all washed up by the sea? It does look a lovely and wild place to go.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are gorgeous! I really want to go out to the west coast someday. I've wanted to for years, and your post today just makes the desire stronger.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos! I love the sunset shots.

ReplyDeleteI was going to gush over the beauty of these pics, but seeing the Keanu references reminded me that Reeves and D'Onofrio have done (at least) two flicks together: Feeling Minnesota and Thumbsucker. They're brothers in the former, and get a lot of screen time together too. In the latter I don't believe they're in any scenes together. Seen either of these?
