Market Square and Old Town

After leaving Chinatown, my next destination was Market Square and Old Town.

Market Square

Beadworld at Market Square.  I was a good girl and didn't even go in!

I've been getting Woofles for Beanie & Sagie since I started going to Canada in 2003.  I got a 10% discount because I'm Facebook friends with Woofles.

Johnson Street is the one most like San Francisco.  Lots of cool shops, although I've noticed that a lot of shops have gone out of business, which is sad.

This is the only picture I shot of the Johnson Street Bridge, while on the bridge.

Back on Johnson Street

I have yet to take a good look at this 4 story holiday and souvenir shop.  I really have to make a point of stopping in the next time I'm in town.

Street art of one of my fave movies.

Bastion Square, the site of the original Fort Victoria.  When we did the Ghostly Walks tour, we were all the way at the other side of the Square, closer to the water.

There's something about this building that both attracts and repels me.  It creeps me out, even though there are no ghost stories associated with it, at least none that I know of.

  2. Great photos - I have fond memories of my all-too-brief day trip visit to Victoria as a teenager...
(mostly remembering the huge hanging baskets of flowers - cool & moist in August when we'd just come from 100-degree-plus Texas heat!)

  3. The other Val says - how colourful it all is. Makes London look very grey and boring.

  4. They only have the hanging baskets in the summer. I saw a couple, but not on every lamp post. I missed that; I was hoping maybe they'd use seasonal flowers. That's OK, it was great to be there in the fall too.
