Giants, Part 3

I think there are a total of 66 Giants in town and by my count, I shot 59 of them.  Not too shabby!

This night we started out a little too early.  It was so much darker in real life but the sky photographed light.

This is Bubbles, at the car wash.

Randy Hunt, CPA

At the Catholic Church.

At the Gibbs' house

Classy Cuts salon

These were unlit for quite some time and were finally all set up.  Instead of shooting them on the way into town we got them on the way out.

Baseball card shop

Cranberry Man.  This one you really have to work to see.  It's way way out on a remote cranberry bog near Spring Hill Beach.  Russell worked on those bogs as a kid and knew which dirt roads to take.  It was pitch dark and we saw 7 deer cross the road in front of us.

Sheep at the yarn shop

This bee used to be in front of The Beehive Restaurant but that place closed and now it's in front of the Mason Hall.

Library

Tuna at the marina.  HF are the initials of a tuna fisherman who passed away.

The pilot at Pilot House Restaurant

This one's called 'Shine' but over half the lights were out and I don't know what it's supposed to be.

Wish Gift wand.

And one more pretty house.

Giants, Part 2

We went out on a second night which was bitter cold and windy but bundled up, it was OK.

Shawme Animal Hospital

This is called Energy Man and it seems to be in front of a private residence on 6A.

Piano store

Peter Rabbit at Green Brier Jam Center.

We noticed that quite a few lights were out on them.  I heard they shorted out during a rainstorm the week before.

Chef at Nonna Elena's Italian Grocery

Serviceman at Canning's Service Station

Moto-San the Glassblower at Magyar's Glass Studio

This is another of my faves

Now this is supposed to be a woman in a pink hat using a green watering can with water pouring on a flower.  However my friends with dirty minds pointed out it looks like something much different is going on here and now I can't unsee that.

Sandwich High School.  GO BLUE KNIGHTS!

The one next to it is supposed to be a Squire.

Giants of Sandwich & the Tree in the Pond

Several years ago, Magyar's Glass Studio began to make these really cool giant statues wrapped with lights.  Their popularity has continued to grow and he has made upwards of 60 giants which are placed all over town at various businesses.  A few years ago when I could still drive at night, I went around a little bit to take pictures but over time I've had to stop cause I can't see that well anymore.  My awesome husband has actually eagerly volunteered to drive me around after dark so that I can lug my tripod and stuff.  He finds a safe place to park so that I can set up my shots.  I really appreciate it!

Beautiful old homes

When we were kids, this was a penny candy store with wooden floors.  Then it was a florist and then a piano/organ shop.

More pretty homes

Of course we had to stop so I could shoot the tree in the pond

Crow Farm.

Titcomb's Books

One of my faves

Another one I love.  The swan and dragon are on a very dark road and are quite striking.

Sandwich Legion.  I LOVE how this came out.
