What Happened to the First Two Months?

OK January did seem unusually long this year but February absolutely flew by.  I haven't had anything to blog about.  Nowhere to go and nothing to do this time of year.  Overall, it's been a satisfactory winter, although last year March was a very stormy month.

After 8 awesome years in this house, we are moving out in June.  Back to my childhood home.  I'm not happy about it but there is literally no choice.  It didn't sell so we have to move there.  I really don't want a 2 story, 130 year old farm house but the rest of the property is nice.  We're busy packing and taking loads over every single day.  Painting needs doing as well.  You never realize how much stuff you have till you start moving it.

Been mostly stitching and planning our next trip to Ohio for Mark's first birthday.  The party is scheduled on my hubby's birthday so that's going to be super cute with the dual celebration.  I'm going to get to the Flight 93 Memorial this time no matter what!!!

This is a Russian bead embroidery that I worked on for a week in late November and then from after Christmas to mid January.

I love the 3D effect!!

I was drawn to that kit because it reminded me of this Pauline Baynes illustration in 'Voyage of the Dawn Treader'.

I got this dino fleece on sale a year ago with the intent of making Mark a blanket for his first birthday.  He wasn't even born yet at the time!!!

I started this after the blanket, in late January, and promptly lost a week when I was really sick.  But it's going much faster now.  This is 4 out of 6 pages completed.  I've been trying to bring a load of stuff to the house in the mornings, and get home by 12 to stitch for a few hours.  I'd like it done before our trip.

Sorry I haven't made the rounds lately.  I've been kind of blah with the cold and big life changes that don't make me terribly happy.  Crafting keeps me sane!  I'll try to be a better blogger!

I'm sorry to hear you've hit a rough patch. Being sick sucks and so does moving. I understand what you mean about two-stories. When we moved this last time, we figured it will be our final home (I hope so!) so we wanted a ranch. I love that 3-D project. Wow!!!!

    1. Thanks Elsie. Heaving all those boxes upstairs is definitely wreaking havoc on my back. And it's really soul crushing moving stuff into my childhood bedroom 30 years after moving all my stuff out to move to the west coast where I swore I'd never return here.

  2. glad you are emerging from hibernation. Like the groundhog, maybe there won't be too many more weeks of winter. (though today we are having black ice on the roads in TX). Your crafts look awesome.
Take care and welcome back. Shake off the blahs

  3. I feel ya' Joanne. I've got a trip coming up and I'll be gone for a month! I feel like everything is on hold until I embrace that plus getting all of my medical crap taken care of and for me that means a whole lotta' crocheting and not much else. I must craft everyday or seriously, I really do get out of sorts. - Here's to new beginnings for you. :) - Don't forget to smudge. Also, call on St. Michael to cut the cords of bad vibes, past hurts, etc. Make that house a home for you and Russell and your grandbabies to come visit. It sounds like it needs some happy memories to fill it up. :)

    1. Thank you for the reminder about smudging it. I will definitely do that. There's so much negative energy in that place right now. I hope you have fun on your trip too! Going back to the 'mitten' to see the grandbabies?

  4. Well that's frustrating and disappointing that your house didn't sell. Sorry you need to move back. I'm hoping it will feel like an unexpectedly happy re-start.
I love the beaded embroidery. It's gorgeous.
    Take care, Joanne.

    1. Thanks so much Robyn. I'm hoping that I'll feel OK over there. I just feel like a failure and kinda humiliated.

    1. Thanks Shweta! I'm not sure I want to recollect said memories. There were happy ones yes but still...it's weird that I have to live there. Something I vowed I'd never do.
