That Wacky Cape Cod Spring

It's so nice to see flowers again!  I suppose, overall, this wasn't a bad winter.  Not as compared with 2014 and 2015.  It was the cold mostly that got to me. However, this is also the time of year where I still have a space heater running in the bathroom, but the a/c on in the bedroom and fan in livingroom.

Rose of sharon on the side of the house.

Hyacinth

Japanese andromeda.

A woolly bear making his way across the lawn.  I've seen a couple of them. I thought they only came out in fall but they also come out in spring so they can turn into moths.  It's kind of ironic that I think the caterpillar is so fuzzy and adorable, but I won't hesitate to kill the moth that it turns into if it gets in my house.

We had a super warm day that turned into an even warmer night on April 29.  The air was so velvety and the moon and stars were so bright.

I was messing around with exposure times and I like this one with the rainbow reflection on the left.

It was hard to get a decent pic that showed the dark part without overexposing the crescent.

The very next day dawned sunny and cool, but by 3:00 pm, the temperature had dropped significantly and the clouds rolled in.

We'll be back up to warmer temps in no time though.

  1. Cloudy, cooler temps here for a few days. Oh, well. Love your flowers, especially those Japanese Andromeda. I wouldn't mind having some of that. :-)

    1. I had to take to FB to ask what the andromeda was. And I've been told that the identified 'rose of sharon' is really an azalea. Botany and gardening isn't my strong point.

  4. How pretty! The flowers. It is sooo dang cold here and flooding so much so that a couple of interstates were shut down for a few days. A mess.

I'm so happy you didn't have one of those wretched winters from the past. We had a harsher one than usual and now it's all about flood warnings out here. So much snow in the city... Our temps have warmed up. Record breaking but we're about to take a 30 degree dive and I'm okay with that. Lots of rain lately. Reminds me of Grey's. :) - Beautiful photos btw, as if I have to say it.

    1. I miss the PNW so much, although I don't think I could live in Idaho cause it's too far from the coast. It's cold and rainy today. Crazy!! As long as it's not snowing I'm happy!!!
