Le Sigh

I think we can all agree that 2016 beat the hell out of us.  I'm exhausted 24/7.  I wake up tired, I'm always tired, I don't want to do anything or go anywhere.  Getting motivated takes an inordinate amount of energy that I just don't have.

The house is decorated though.  That took a couple of days.

I love to do Christmas art, can you tell?

I had to send my beloved Pepper over the Rainbow Bridge on December 1st which was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.  I am so grateful Russell was there for me those first few days.  I was a mess.  I miss her so much and I still start crying real easily....like now.  Marsha gave me this ornament last year.  Best doggie ever.

Anywho...I'm really sorry I haven't made the blog rounds the past couple of weeks.  I just haven't had the energy or attention span.  Seriously feel like I've gone the full 15 rounds with 2016.  Trying to snap out of this funk and salvage the last couple weeks of the year!

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Pepper. It's really hard to loose such a special friend. You did an amazing job decorating your house. Looks like a full-time job! I hope you start feeling better.

  2. So sorry to hear about your beloved Pepper. My heart goes out to you.
I never could go all out for Christmas. On occasion I tried, but then I had to clean it all up, afterward. Really pretty though.

    1. Thanks SJ! There were a few years back in Washington when I was too depressed to decorate. I was bummed leading up to the holiday but on December 26th I was glad I didn't have to put it all away!

  4. I am thinking you were headed for a dr appointment last time we saw you? Not sure if that provided any insight into your lack of energy-it certainly has been a year that lacked inspiration. Hope you are back to yourself soon. So sorry about Pepper-such a lucky four-legger to have been loved so much. Your holiday projects are fantastic! I must make an "entering Orleans" one for my parents next year (yes, let's pretend I will remember that!)

    1. All my labs were normal and my doc said to 'keep up the good work'. She didn't even come down on me about my weight. I just had a very bad 2015 that culminated in a nervous breakdown almost exactly a year ago and 2016 has been bad as well. I'm out of energy. Everything takes an effort.

That artist that made the Sandwich one is in Plymouth...she might have one for Chatham.

  5. For some reason half your pictures didn't come out and there were great blanks in the text areas. Have you ever been tested for sleep apnea? Your symptoms sound a bit like that to me. I wish you a Merry Christmas JoJo and hope you manage to perk up enough to enjoy it. I certainly wish us all a much better 2017.

    1. Thanks Jo. Weird about the pics..but you probably saw them all on Facebook anyway! I've never been tested for it and since I absolutely will NOT wear a CPAP, there's no point. Even if I had it, I'm not strapping that thing on my face. I'll never be able to sleep.

  7. HI Jojo! Absolutely inspiring Christmas decorations, well done!:) Thanks foe sharing. My favourite is a snow covered Christmas town :) Looks so realistic and cozy. I do love doing such crafts too, but no time these days :( ehh. I can understand your tiredness very well, you are not alone dear. However, I wish that a New year will be totally enjoyable and full of energy (as they promise it will be, a Rooster year in Chinese calendar). Take care! Hugs!

    1. Thanks! I love that vintage town too. They don't make village sets like that anymore...these are from the 60s. We had them when I was a kid but the village disappeared at some point over the years (possibly stolen from a shed where the decorations were stored), so I had to buy these off ebay a few years ago.

  8. Sorry about your dog.
But WOW that is a lot of Christmas decorating cheer. I want to bring some hot chocolate to share and I can nose around.
Love the ornament art. Hope you can perk up for 2017. Ease into it and take good care.

    1. Thanks Joanne. Sure is hard to lose a pet. :( I'm really trying to force myself out of this funk and salvage the last few days of the year. I wish I could drive at night cause I'd love to go shooting pics of the lights and decorations.
