Mt. Rainier and Lenticular Clouds - Dec. 2008 copyright: JMM

This Happened

So there I was, thumbing through the new Photographer's Edge catalog...which, by the way, I almost pitched into the trash when it came but decided to browse....and I spied a picture of Mt. Rainier that was used as an example on one of their quotation cards that you can order with your pic on it.

I even said out loud, 'Wow! That looks so much like the picture I took!'  Then I noticed the credit underneath and my eyes bugged out.  I completely forgot that I submitted this picture to the catalog in the hopes that they might print it.  It was months ago.

The day after I got the catalog, I received a letter from them telling me that my picture had been selected and they gave me a $25 gift certificate to their catalog!  So I got that going for me....which is nice.

    1. Thank you Liz. In the case of Rainier, it was Mother Nature doing all the work. All I did was break a bunch of traffic laws to get my camera and shoot it!

    1. Thank you!! I was going at least 65-70 on a local road with a speed limit of 50. I rolled through stop signs and red lights if I could, floored it on the highway and weaved in and out of traffic.

    2. Hey, a good photo shot waits for no one - you did what you had to do, but those traffic violations aren't biggies if no one was hurt. . .

  5. Way to go JoJo, I have always thought that was a fabulous picture. I thought you were going to say they didn`t acknowledge it`s ownership. I am so glad they did.

  9. It is a fantastic photo. I think I told you before that when I looked through a book about clouds, the picture of lenticular clouds was nothing like as good as yours.
