Spring Teased Us....

Temps were still running chilly at the end of April but I put the yard decorations out anyway (although the stuff on the railing stays year round).  That gazing ball on the left is going to have to be thrown away.  I've left it out for several winters and now it's all cracked and breaking up.

Busy bee on Rose of Sharon tree.

Ebeneezer the gargoyle.  I got him when I lived in California so he must be at least 20 years old.

My bff Shelly made the paw prints!

Sadly, the temps have plummeted into the 40s and we've had pouring rain off and on with wind and just generally miserable weather for early May.  My hopes for a nice spring are being dashed.  I really don't want to go from winter to a hot, humid summer which is equally miserable.

  1. I love the glass. Last summer I bought a settee and chairs for the garden with large cushions. I spent more time bringing the cushions indoors and drying them than I did sitting on them. I really hope its sunnier his year.

    1. Thanks! So far I haven't been able to sit outside either. I should've waited till like next week to put the stuff out. I hope it stops raining soon.

  2. Bit early to put chairs and cushions out I would think. I hope you get some more spring JoJo. Things are beginning to green up here but it isn't too long since we had an ice storm.

    1. I was just so eager to put winter behind me but that was not to be. Hopefully this week will warm up.

Same thing happened here, it was gorgeous for a few days then, BAM, cold and rain for last two weeks. We even had to put the heat back on. WTH? I love your flowers! My daffodils stopped blooming last year or the year before. I have no idea why. They bud but never bloom. It's so weird.

    1. The rest of the flowers are really struggling to come out. Everything's really behind. I just don't want to go from cold to hot and humid.

  4. we've had lots and lots of rain down in CT as well ... but I'll take that over the 3 Hs (hazy, hot and humid). I'm a NW girl and prefer a gentle rain to dripping humidity!

    1. You and me both! I only lived in Washington for 12 years...and I'm actually from here originally....but I like the NW climate way better. Not looking forward to humidity.

    1. The insulators? I love them. We have a few in clear, and I've bought dark blue and purple. The amber are rare and worth tons of money!

  6. Good grief. 40? Sometimes in Missouri we go from Winter to Summer. Spring gets shoved out.

  7. Seems as though the world is hit by extreme extremes in the weather. I really like all the sunshine in your photos, though. I hope it comes back to you soon.
