2017 Calendar

The 2017 calendar project is finally done.  Thank god.  Started out gung ho but it turned out to be somewhat tedious.  The best part was mounting the pictures.  Then I did the month/year, photo locations, birthdays and holidays on the computer and printed them out on sticker paper, cut and placed them on the days.  Oh, and the days themselves are stenciled in different colour ink.  By the way, I used Stabilo brand fine point markers and each one ran out of ink by the 16th of each month.  I was not a happy camper.  Do NOT buy Stabilo.  Huge disappointment.  They went in the trash after this project.

I got all my pics processed at CVS in either 5x7 for the vertical pics and 8x10 for the horizontal.  I decided to make it with pics I've taken around here instead of pics from the west coast.  I'm already surrounded by lots of pics and prints from out west and I figured Russell would prefer if I used local pics instead.

  1. Love it JoJo. Most attractive calendar and of course the photography is great with all the pictures you take.

    1. Thanks Jo! I looked into having calendars made with the pictures on them (and obviously not the birthdays and stuff from my life) to sell but they are unbelievably expensive. I'd never be able to break even.

  2. I understand the slog of finishing a big project, it can get grueling. I'm glad you saw it through, because it turned out GREAT! Really lovely calendar, and the best part is it will be enjoyed for an entire year :-)

    1. Thanks Liz! If the pens hadn't kept running out of ink this would have been done a lot faster but I got so frustrated so I put the whole project down for a few weeks. Glad it's done!

This is a fantastic idea, JoJo! I absolutely love it, it looks professional! Now you can even enter in special events/days along the year as they happen and keep the calendar as a keepsake when the year is through. Great job!

    1. Thanks Elsie! I usually do keep calendars at the end of the year but they pile up. I definitely won't get rid of this one. The processing for the pictures came to $75. Most expensive calendar ever. lol
