8 Photos of Happiness

Thank you, Kathy at Giggling Trucker's Wife for inviting to join the 8 Photos of Happiness blog hop.

Doing stuff and making memories with my new family (includes a bonus pic of the pups cause they are family too!!!).

Victoria/Vancouver Island/British Columbia.  Didn't spend near enough time up there as I should have. This is the BC Legislative Building in Victoria.  Taken 2010 on what would be my last trip to Canada.

Beach combing and finding ultimate holy grail items like beautiful frosted marbles.

And speaking of marbles, I love love love them.  I recently won an eBay auction for literally thousands and thousands of them.  The price was great too I might add.  This is just the top layer.

Mt. Rainier and the Pacific Northwest (taken Dec. 2008 from Bonney Lake).  This is also going to have to also represent how happy photography makes me.

The San Francisco Bay Area  was a fantastic place to vacation, and then eventually live for ten years. (taken January 1991 from the Marin Headlands)

Memories of the Grateful Dead years before Jerry died (taken at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, June 1990).

Making crafts and buying all the supplies!

This blog hop has been brought to you by Vidya Sury .

Anyone who wants to play along, please do!

  2. Funny, I spent the best part of a week in San Francisco and didn't get any fog whatsoever. Never been to Vancouver. I've always admired that cloud picture.

    1. If you went to SF in late summer or fall, there isn't much fog then. But spring and summer definitely. I lived in the Richmond District, aka 'the fog belt' and it stayed a lovely 60-65 all summer. It didn't even burn off in the financial district till late afternoon.

  3. Enjoyed those photos, JoJo, especially, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Northwest and Victoria. The family shot will be a treasured memory for you. BTW, I wish I'd known you liked marbles. I gave away a lot of hubs' collection (not as big as yours I don't think) when we moved, as marbles have a lot of weight to them. I did keep some for him, though.

    1. Thanks! I am a marble fanatic, ever since I was little. An aunt & uncle gave me a large collection on the occasion of my first communion when I was 7 because I was such a marble nut! I buy them off ebay every now and then. This was a great score!

  4. I enjoyed this tour of happy things. Some time, we'll have to share memories of San Francisco. That's a great photo of Jerry and his crew.
    Be well, JoJo.

    1. Thanks! I would love to share Bay Area memories! Our time there overlapped in the 90s. And we had great seats the night I took that picture. 10th row. I have some close ups that came out great too. Shoreline was my fave place to see them.

  5. Wow, what a fantastic shot of The Golden Gate. Truly artistic !
Love the marbles, I've a huge jar of them that were my hubby's from when he was a kid, back in the days when kids played marbles . . . and jacks.
I can remember getting up to tensies in jacks a few times but that didn't happen often

    1. Thank you! I got lucky that day with the fog. It was taken in January too. Fog usually comes in the gate in the summer. I loved to play marbles when I was a kid but I never played for keepsies b/c I didn't want to part with mine! lol

    1. Thanks Val! Well Sagan would welcome it.....one hug and he'll be your best friend for life and never stop pestering you for snuggles. Pepper can be indifferent and standoffish....I'm really the only one she lets fawn all over her. lol
