The Winter of Our Discontent

Woke up to more......you guessed it....snow, last Wednesday.  There was at least 5 more inches on top of the stuff that refuses to melt.  Here's a picture of the Cape & Islands and off Cape.  See all that ice in the seawater?  Crazy!

It was a very pretty morning though with bright blue skies and though it pains me to admit this, a fresh coating of snow does look very pretty.

The light breeze would shake loose the snow tufts.

This one shining flake looks so art deco!

More snow coming off the branches.

Then we got a very pretty late afternoon moon.

This crumpled snow pile on my bowl of stones and shells reminded me of the sorting hat except it's not pointed.  Then I cracked myself up when I heard Hagrid's voice in my head saying, 'Yer a blizzard, Harry.'   Yes....cabin fever has hit full force.

  1. Love the icicle picture! As much as I like winter, this year I will be happy when it warms up and spring comes. I am ready for it...and honestly I could care less if we got any more snow. Kind of tired of it. :)

    1. Well I woke up to at least 6 more inches of the blasted crap today. And I'm too sick to do anything about it. Shoveling and cleaning off my car isn't gonna happen.

  2. I did hear your neck of the woods was due for more snow. Its snowing here right now (Prescott Arizona) but it isn't really sticking (yet) and its just a one day storm so to speak; should be in the high 50s and sunny by week's end.

    Pretty picture of the icicles!

    1. Thanks! I didn't know you were in Prescott AZ! Nice! My hubby and I have talked about when we get older, wintering down there. People from here always go to Florida but I absolutely cannot stand the deep south and told him I'd only go to AZ or NM.

  3. Such beautiful photos JoJo but even with my undying love of my beloved snow, since we've had over a month of spring temps out here, I am so ready for spring. It's supposed to be in the 60's this weekend and I cannot wait!

    1. Thanks! Well get me some toast because I am JELLY of your spring weather. I am seriously ready to scream. Today is actually very balmy and the snow we got last night is starting to melt. Still though....it'd be nice not to HAVE snow anymore, and JUST melt.

  4. I'm glad you ventured out and had what seems like a brief moment of peace with the snow. Nothing you can do about it, so might as well try to find some beauty in it :-)

    1. You n me both, sister. It's 21 degrees with snow tonight and snow again on Thursday. I am seriously starting to worry about the roof. I have no way of getting snow off it and the ice is building up really bad.
