Decorations!

Although it feels like I just put these away, I took out the Halloween/fall decorations at the end of September.

I took this spooky tree east with me but it sat out in the shed since we moved in.  I decided to take it out, clean it off and decorate it.  May have gone a bit overboard with the balls....

I dragged Russell to Michael's one day and he picked out the eyeballs.

The four sided lantern.

Can't believe the purple bat lights still work.  I got them 14 or 15 years ago at Fred Meyer in Bonney Lake. Seems like yesterday, but that really was a long time ago.

Russell picked out this picture out for his daughter at Michael's.  Looks like two normal Victorian era kids right?

Except when you look at the picture from another angle, they turn into the living dead.  Pretty cool eh?

  1. Looks like you are all set for Halloween! I haven't been able to really get into the spirit this year. I don't have any decorations up all. I probably will get more in gear for Christmas. Loved seeing your decorations. They look great!

    1. Thanks! Here's the sad thing, we don't get anyone trick or treating and I do try to discourage it by not doing anything outside to entice kids to come knocking. It's too hard with the dogs.

That last picture is the BEST! I'd love to have that hanging in the entryway for the tricker-treaters. And, those eyeballs, so creepy! Fantastic. We didn't decorate last year. It was so rainy and crappy out. Maybe this year we'll be able to set something up.

    1. You can find those pics at Michael's Crafts...they are $4.99, and I saw a man/woman, 2 women and the 2 kids. Russell picked out the kids for his daughter but I stopped him from labeling the pic 'Jeff & Val' lmao I did tell her he was gonna do that though. hahaha

    1. Thank you! Yeah isn't that pic freaky? I only ever saw them in catalogs a few years ago so I was surprised to see it at Michael's and way cheaper.

  4. Oh gosh, I'll have nightmares about those twins now. :D
Love how you really get into the seasons, wish I could get so enthused, but I always think "If I take it out, I'll just have to pack it back up again !" . Guess it's just laziness on my part.
Sorry I've been MIA but the past few weeks my hubby and I went on a whirlwind road trip from Florida out to Arizona and back again, in a round-about sort of way. Put over 4,600 on the car but got to visit with a lot of old friends on the way and some of our family too. Was fun - but Lord Almighty there was road construction everywhere !!! And when the speed limit is 70 and we're driving 80, why is everybody zipping past us at 90 like we're two old farts pushing walkers???

    1. What a great trip!!! SO JELLY! We haven't been on a trip since we went to Maine for 2 days, in the fall of 2011 and before that was the drive from Washington to here!

I was so depressed in Washington that I didn't decorate for years. I think the last time I decorated was either fall of 2005 or 2006...maybe I did it in 2007, I'd have to look at my pics. I know I didn't for sure in 08 till I moved away. I was so depressed and hated my life and how much work it took to do everything. But now I'm happy and in love, and I like a cozy, festive home for Russell to come home to. He only got back into the holidays because of me...he was pretty bummed out too over the years.

  5. Funny. Those kids look a bit creepy in the first picture. The second one is off-the-charts disturbing. But I burst out laughing too.

Be well, friend, and have fun with all the holiday crafts.

    1. Thanks Robyn! Great stuff eh? I think Halloween is now 2nd to Christmas in amount of decorations. I've seen some houses go all out. There is one in town that I call Epic Halloween House.

  6. Yikes! Those changing photos freak me out. ;) Fall is my most favorite time of the year.

Love the decor! I have to get mine out. We just celebrated Thanksgiving here last weekend, so I have to switch over from Fall to Halloween soon!

Did you do the witch cross stitch? It is awesome!

    1. Thanks! Yes I did all of the cross stitch projects shown here, but years ago. I just don't have the room to do any others, although I do have a Fall themed kit that I haven't started. I suppose if I wanted to remove all my regular wall pictures I could do more Halloween, and Christmas, cross stitches but I don't.

    1. Thank you Phyllis! I wonder if I'll get any kids this year. There aren't many on my street. Most of them are too old.
