Beautiful Fall!

The leaves started changing close to the end of September, which seems to me to be a bit early.  Everything is going into fall mode and it's pretty!

Pokeberries which are very poisonous to pets and people, and my yard is full of them.  Luckily my dogs show no interest in them and they haven't been a problem.

More berries in my yard.

We went to Hyannis one day for lunch and I spotted this in the median strip at a stop light.  It says, 'A man name Charles Osborne had the hiccups for 60 years!'

We ate at the Brazilian Grill, on Main Street Hyannis.  It was really good.  Their buffet/salad bar is awesome, and they also bring all kinds of meat around to your table and slice piece off for you.

September came to a close with some very warm days.  I went for a short walk downtown on one of those days.  For some reason the 80 degrees felt more uncomfortable in September than it did in July.

So cute!

I love mums.  I wish I could keep flowers alive.

  2. Gorgeous photos JoJo. You truly have a great eye for lovely and interesting camera shots. The golden leaves and berries photo is pretty enough for framing and you capture the delicacy of that spider web perfectly.
With this long warm summer, Autumn colors have been slow at coming. As we drove through Tennessee and on down to Georgia I would spot a tree once in a while that was attempting to change its summer coat of green to the more vibrant shades of Autumn but they were few and far between.

    1. Thank you! There's so much photographic competition around here that I haven't made a real effort to try to sell any of my pics. So many people are just WAY better than I am.

If I had dog care, we could've taken a 'leaf peeping' trip up to New Hampshire to see the really great foliage. I think it's already gone by up there now. We're still seeing trees changing but with the rainstorms a lot of leaves are already down.

  3. you have an orb in your light, pretty, pretty fall colors,I used to leave the pokeberries grow thinking I could dye my fiber with them, but you have to make some strange concoction with buttermilk to get the color to take.Phyllis

    1. I've heard that kids used pokeberries for ink but I also hear they are very poisonous. I love it when I shoot at the sun and get those orb effects.

  4. What lovely photos! Thank you for sharing them and taking us along with you. I so enjoy travelling that way....less expensive and tiring than doing it for real. I just got back from a trip to Maine about 10 days ago. What a beautiful drive that was (too bad the company I was with wasn't more pleasant, but you can't have everything, right?)

    1. Thank you Mildred! Oh I so wish we could get up to Maine (or NH). My best friend lives there and so do my SIL & BIL, and our niece and her kids. Sorry your trip didn't go well at all though.

    1. Thanks! I was lucky to see and shoot that web; it was gone the next day.
