PTown Trip, Part 2

I'd spotted this really cool garden last year when we were walking back to the car.  It was so humid and I was so drenched with sweat that I didn't want to walk up to see it but I made a mental note to see it this year.

Look at the size of that geode! And the quartz ball on top!

There were all kinds of neato things in the walls and in the garden.

Metal sculptures.

LOVE!

If there was a name on the house I would consider requesting a private tour so that I could photograph the whole place.

This was back on the main street (Commercial Street).

We ate lunch here.  Yum.

Never noticed these Pennsylvania Dutch roosters on the pavement before but they were all over the place!

We walked out on MacMillan Wharf this year.  It's full of artists and you get the whale watch boats and ferries here too.

Can you believe that I didn't buy a single thing for myself this year?  I'm just as surprised as you!

Didn't go in.  The Whydah was a ship that sank off the Cape in the 1800s and the famous treasure hunter and shipwreck locator, Barry Clifford, found it in the 80s.  It was a big deal around here when he brought the ship's bell to the surface.

Yeah, no, on second thought, ain't walkin' up there. Nope nope nope.

*Eyebrow waggle*

She & I ate here last year but I didn't notice this window.  It's hard to tell, but that's the US Post Office's old 1960s mascot, Mr. Zip, or 'Zippy', with a drink tray.

On the Shop Therapy wall outside.  I didn't get a pic of the store this year but I do have it from last year. We went in and I got a tshirt for Axe's daughter.

I hope you enjoyed this little trip to PTown!

  1. That garden is amazing. I would love to while away the hours there, beading, with a cold glass of something or other. I would consider sending a card to the resident requesting permission to photograph more of it. You don't need their name, you have the address. A lot of times (though not always) when people put that much energy/love/money into something they become proud of it and are happy to share it with appreciative souls.

I think I finally figured out what I like most about your blog. The crafty stuff is great, your photographs are out of this world, and you are fortunate to live in an amazing place. However, all that stuff aside, I think its your attitude about life that resonates with me. You appreciate life. You really do. Too many people see only what they don't have and blindly ignore the good things that exist. You actively seek out the joy and see the magic. That's an amazing place to be and I find it wonderful :D

    1. Thank you so much Liz! Those are very kind words and I am humbled. I went through some tough times out west, esp. from about 2002 till I left in 2011. I'm lucky to have gotten a do over and I really do appreciate that.

  5. Are the owners of that garden Indian? The elephant is the Hindu god Ganesh.

    1. I doubt it....you see a lot of Ganesh statues and other Hindu gods/goddesses in the states, in gardens & homes of all races and religions.

    1. Oh you have no idea. It's so awesome. A little closer to R rated for kids but you still see a lot of kids up there anyway.
