More Goodies!

One of the drain pipes needs to be fixed and this giant icicle formed.

I had a real off week, last week.  Felt like crap, couldn't get warm, crying real easily and which culminated with a killer headache from hell on Sunday....just one of the lovely hormonal byproducts of middle age.  Like a beacon of light, I got that package from Tracy with the sugar cookie mix and the very next day I got another box full of flat backed glass blobbies from Kim!

PLUS chewsticks for my fuzzies!

Of course Sagan demolished his in no time, then sat on the couch, with his eyes flicking back and forth between Pepper still munching her chewie, and me, with a dejected look on his face.  I couldn't stop cracking up.

I looked down at Bean and she looked up at me like this, which only made me laugh harder.

Eventually she tired of hers as it was rather large and Sagan left it alone for awhile which surprised me, but he finally finished it off later in the day.

So the day I had my headache, the only thing I managed to do was sew beads to this little doily bowl I made a few weeks back by spraying starch on it and letting it dry over an inflated balloon.  It didn't make the bowl as stiff as I wanted and it began to collapse under the weight of the beads.  So after they were sewn on, I tried spraying more starch on it but that still didn't work, so I coated the back with mod podge and let it dry.

Then I got up on Friday, checked my email, and was excited to see that I won another giveaway, on the Krafty Max Originals blog/Facebook page!!  I won a bracelet but I haven't gotten it yet.

And then I got this from Michelle!

  1. The *only* thing you managed to do. You're so cray cray JoJo! That'd be a five week project for you. Our dogs do the same thing with their bones. They are so funny. I'm glad they aren't all possessive over them.

    1. Well only doing one project is so foreign to me....I'm usually moving between the kitchen, livingroom and craft room...when one thing is drying I'm doing something else. lol

  5. Hi human, JoJo,

Always good to see you use your artistic talents, even when you feel like crap. You deserve goodies, my human friend. And a excellent reminder that my alleged human owes me a doggy treat, big time!

Those icicles are quite the photos. We had no really cold weather this past winter in England. Actually, it has been surprisingly warm.

    Pawsitive wishes,

Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar!

    1. Thank you!! Yes I've been much better this week, although I seem to wake up with a slight headache every day. The beads in the bowl are mostly wood except the rainbow ones which appear to be ceramic or some kind of clay.

    1. Thanks! Yes the pups have me trained well.....I'd like to think it's the other way around but they say (bark?) 'jump' and I say 'how high?' lol My doc told me I was in perimenopause about 20 years ago. When is it gonna end????

  9. My grandmother used to make those stiff doily bowls - she used old-fashioned boiled laundry starch, in the heaviest concentration. She said nothing else would work except sugar starch and that will attract ants in the summer. Gives it a pretty gloss, though! Her 'bowls' were so stiff and sturdy that she could fill them with marbles and seashells, among other things. I love the way you put beads on yours! I'll have to remember that idea!!!

    1. I was looking for laundry starch...maybe I missed it in the aisle...but all I could find was spray starch. I'd like to use the old fashioned method because you can make doily Christmas trees too. I was going to add glass beads but the doily reminded me of 70s era macrame so I went with the wood beads instead.
