The Calm Before the Storm...and the Storm

The erratic January weather continued just past mid-month  Had another really pretty day on the 19th.

Maxfield Parrish clouds in the late afternoon.

Buttermilk Bay sunset

This was taken in the wee small hours of January 20th.

Woke up to a dusting.  Just enough to coat the ground and make things look pretty.

"Look mama! I iz famingo too!!!"

To err on the side of caution, however, we got errands & some food shopping done, and I got my mom to one of her dr. appointments, because this was predicted for the 21st.  We were in the pink 9"-12" zone.

It started to snow.

And snow.

"Iz deep!"

And snow.

"HALP!"

It finally stopped overnight and we woke up to an overcast day on the 22nd.

Wishing they'd flown south for the winter.

Our street.

The snow on the beach reminded me of a glacier.

My car's under there somewhere!

The snow did not stay around at all, thankfully.  The temps soared into the 50's on the 23rd and 24th and the only snow left was the plow piles.  I can deal with a winter like this!!
