Fall and the Scarecrows of Buzzards Bay

We had a gorgeous fall season this year, hot and humid days not withstanding.  I was pleased to see the town decorated so festively by mid-October, including tons of scarecrows scattered all over town.  Apparently it was a contest.  Slideshow of said scarecrows is below.

St. Peter's church.  St. Peter is the patron saint of fishermen and shipwrights.

Totally loved this haunted house.  I bet they get tons of kids on Halloween night!!!

True story.

Again I say:  True story.

  1. great photos!

the Halloween decos are nice and scary at the same time. : )

  2. Wow, your little town puts a wonderful effort into decorating for the Fall season. Very nice. As far as the scarecrow with boobs, must of been implants. They do say they'll last longer than the rest of ya. In our old neighborhood we have one cul-de-sac where the whole street decorates like that. There would be a guy hiding in the backyard of one of the houses and every once in a while he'd come running out with a chainsaw blaring. lol Lots of fun.

  3. Great collection of photos - you excelled evenm yourself here. Wouldn't like to choose a favourite but I like the boat complete with fisherman (okay it's St Peter not any old fisherman)half way up the church wall

What a wonderfully colourful show :0)

  5. Is that house like that all year round?

It seems to me that you have arrived at a suitably quirky place to live!

Such beautiful colors and going all out for Halloween. It must be such fun to walk around and see all of that. Appreciate all of your photos so we can see too!

  7. Lovely photos! Seems like you live in a great place. :-)

That flower is incredible... you are quite the photographer my friend.

  9. Wow. Awesome photos. I love it when the whole neighborhood is festive.
