IZ U MAYK CHEEZBURGER? WE CAN HAS? PWEASE?
Every time I'm upstairs cooking, my "Secret Service Detail" has to follow me around and stand right next to me, till I finally shoo them out. Usually it's just Sagan who insists on enthusiastically "helping", but occasionally Pepper will come up and vocalize in the funniest way with a series of growly-type howls. I call her "Chewy" because she sounds like Chewbacca. After I shoo them out, the above is what I usually see, two goofy faces peering around the fridge at me.

I'm starting to have this problem too! The problem with shepherds (or shep mixes, in my case)is that they can easily reach the counter tops and hoover them with their noses. Most annoying.

  3. Kristy - and in the case of my Sagan, slurp down all the raw chicken breasts I had marinating in a glass dish on my countertop!!!

  4. My neighbours had one dog who ate a bar of soap (!) and (separately)a pound of butter, and another who ate their steaks as they thawed, so they had to have her mince!

How can anyone resist such faces, though?

  5. They look beautiful...or rather thwy look like they'd pinch the food out of your hand if they got the chance :-D

My mum has a greyhound, and he can eat things off the counters,,including a leg of lamb just taken out of the oven...made for an interesting Sunday lunch

but, how can anyone resist the big eyes in those adorable faces. they say, "ooooh, feed me, love me, pet me, play with me, pay attention to me...feed me..."

  8. We do love them to pieces and yeah, their big brown eyes are too hard to resist. They both know they have me wrapped around their fuzzy paws.

They are all too funny when they are trying to mooch food. Our little old Ruff barks to tell us there is a moose in the yard and eats our food while we watch it run around.

  11. Liz - I think that Ruff may have worked out the ruse with the moose. Rhyme intended.

I can't go into the kitchen for ANY reason without the larger of my cats tromping down the hall sounding like a large dog, careening into the kitchen and stopping- just barely- in front of his dish, and looking at me as if to ask why its contents haven't changed.

  13. Great poochies!

Joe - that is funny (is it Miles?), but in general cats got nothing on dogs re: persistence.

It is Miles, and as far as persistence goes, you don't know my cats. Angus was far easier to dissuade from any course of action.
