Happy Birthday Pepper!

Little Pepper Pepperoni Puppington turns 6 on February 2! We actually don't know what her real birthday is. The information provided at the Humane Society said that she was 2 years old, so we picked a date for her birthday. She's my little pal and I take her with me when I do my errands on Saturday. She gets so excited when I say, "let's go!" She jumps around in circles and wags her whole back end, while giving me a huge grin and doing her "I want" whine. She puts her ears up so that she looks like she's wearing a nun's wimple, so we call her "Sister Bertrill" (from "The Flying Nun") when she does that. It's adorable.

Of course we've given her like a million nicknames: Beanie Weenie, Beans, Beebs, Snuggs,
Bubbles Magoo, Snufflebumpkins, Fleef (that one evolved from saying "flea flicker"), Fluppy, 'Roni Roodles (she loves mac-n-cheese), and well you get the idea.

Ever since the storms, she's been snuggling with me in bed at night. I always said I'd never allow a dog on my bed, but she's just too cute and sweet to resist. And it's been so cold that I appreciate the extra warmth!

One of her favorite things to do is beat up her little brother, who outweighs her by about 40 lbs. and runs way faster than she does. They are very comical, racing back and forth across the yard, around the trees, slapping at each other. Sagan absolutely adores Pepper, and we are certain that she likes him more than she lets on.

Sometimes I take her with me when I go to work, mostly on Fridays or if she has a vet appointment after work. My boss is not a dog-person, but he adores Pepper. He would always ignore my former boss' golden retriever when she'd bring him in, but he goes out of his way to pet Pepper. One year at Krissmiss, he gave me one of those 3' plastic bones filled with dog biscuits. Then I knew for sure that he loved her. She's the perfect office dog: she's quiet and obedient, and just sleeps on my floor or follows me around. Happy birthday little Beanie Weenie sweetie pie! We love you!
