Someone Please Slow Down the Time!

Each year seems to be flying by faster than the one before.  I cannot believe it's almost October.  It feels like I just put away the decorations and it's time to take them out again.  What's mostly time consuming is dusting and putting away all the every day decorations while simultaneously putting up the Halloween ones.  I don't just toss my stuff into the storage bin.  No no no.  I have to dust and wrap almost every single knick knack in bubblewrap or tissue paper.  This would explain why my stuff is in good condition and has lasted for over 25 years.

Anywho.  I did want to share some cool sky pics taken at the end of August and this month.

September 11 sunset

I was outside at the right time to catch the afternoon sun in my glass wind chimes, which are a little worse for wear.

Some have broken.  I had to do a coat of glass paint a couple of years ago and it looks like they need another one.  Or maybe I should just buy a new set.

Full Harvest Moon on September 15th

I was browsing the Halloween stuff in CVS and came across the scariest masks I've EVER seen. *shudder*  Trump looks like he has grilled chicken on his head.

After I finished the states, I wanted a super quick, instant gratification project so I whipped up this beaded cross stitch fireflies kit.  Took two days.  I gave it to my friend Yvonne as a fridge magnet.

I was kinda sick of looking at these unfinished needlepoints on my craft table so I buckled down and worked for a couple of hours hand stitching each one to black backing fabric and then using fiberfill for the stuffing.  I erred with the sewing on the peacock feathers.  There were still a few rows of white canvas showing at the seams, so I used a black sharpie and carefully coloured them.  Worked out really well too.

Real life has been rudely butting into my life.  The upswing in 'adulting' I've had to do lately has been unreal.  I'm so exhausted all the time, it's not even funny.  I'm still having issues with panic and anxiety, and trying not to see the glass as half empty.  It's so hard.  Sometimes I just feel so beaten down and I don't want to leave the house.

I haven't been beachcombing in ages and I have no idea when I can pencil in some beach time.  I think the parking lots are free by now.  I have a rather ambitious "Things I want to do this fall" list and it remains to be seen if I will be able to do all of it but I'll give it the ol' college try!

  1. Your sunsets are beyond awesome!

Take care of yourself... obvs, some days, you have to leave the house, but I've been known to avoid it when possible, just because I need silence to recharge my batteries.

    1. Thank you! I desperately need time to myself. I am used to having at least 2 days in a row all to myself but it's barely working out to one day. It's more like one day every 10.

  2. It's going to be a terrifying Halloween, if those masks are an indication.

I love the pillows, especially the peacock leaf one.
    Cyber hugs, JoJo.

    1. Yeah I think election day is gonna be 100x scarier than anything Halloween could throw at us. Ugh. Thanks Robyn! XO

  3. Seems the older we get, the faster time flies. Sharpie marker? Whatever works, looks great! Great sky shots! Chimes are still pretty, I'd just add some glass paint - who is going to examine them? I make lists too and used to be able to mark everything off. LOL!

    1. Thanks Liz! I really need to go look for beach glass. I havent' done it in ages. I was addicted for awhile...always chasing that rare piece. But then I found some rare pieces so I feel like my collection, while modest, is really special.

  5. I can't believe how fast the year is flying by either. Tonight is parent teacher conferences at the high school. It doesn't seem possible that they have been at school long enough to warrant conferences. Your crafts and pictures are beautiful. You need to get to the beach...it will restore your soul my friend!

  6. I was so caught up in looking at those glass windchimes and thinking how cool and beautiful they are and then I scroll down to those masks and your comment about grilled chicken on Trumps head and I burst out laughing. Omg. That's my favorite. And yeah. Let's slow down time just a bit. I'm still working on Christmas projects!

    1. Thanks. The moon is very hard to shoot. I probably could've done better if I had it on a tripod but I was too lazy to drag it and the cable shutter release out. lol

  8. Take care and I hope cooler temps and less people allow you to get out. Very cool moon pics. As far as Halloween it's zooming in fast. I enjoy digging out that orange and black. Take care

    1. Thank you! It seems less humid today but it's still very warm, for the first day of fall. I just want cool weather but not winter either!

  9. Lovely sky images, JoJo. Time seems faster as we get older, since most of us have more to do and less time to spend on what we like to do as opposed to what we 'have' to do. Hang in there.

  10. The snaps of the Moon are brilliant... I used to photograph Moon even with my smartphone, lol. But of course, pictures were not good at all.
I loved the boho style cushions, they look so vibrant! Great job Jojo!
You managed to finish many projects, and it is always good. Take care!

I'm so sorry you're having struggles with anxiety, JoJo. I hope that it passes soon. I had no idea that you were still dealing with it. My heart goes out to you. I'm sending you lots of love. Your cloud pictures rock...as do all the others, but those, those really grabbed my attention.

  12. Great pictures as usual JoJo. You know, I don't do much decorating except for Christmas. Most of my stuff gets thrown in a bin and some of my tree ornaments I have had for more than 40 years. I do hope you can get to the beach soon. Nice to get out in the fresh air.

  13. I love your wind chime. My gardener just resurrected mine and fixed them, but they're just ordinary. Is your weather still hot? Over here it's as hot as mid-summer. I've had enough!

  17. I can't believe summer is over. My garden cushions have been put away as they keep getting soaked and soon the furniture outside will be getting wrapped up for winter. Your photos are great I love the colours in the cushions.

  18. I've been seeing so many bloggers saying the same thing about time flying by. It does seem incredible but I guess it's a function of getting older. I can still remember when I was a child and time seemed to last forever. It was only an illusion. Now the joke's on me.

    1. I know right? When I was a kid, it seemed like FOREVER till Christmas. Now it feels like I just put the decorations away and it's time to do it again. I just got my Halloween stuff up.
