Cordage Park, North Plymouth

Finally got around to getting a kitchen table, from The Mill Store in Plymouth.  This place is pretty cool; reminded me of the Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse in Sumner, WA (which is the coolest furniture store on the planet).  The store is in an industrial park with some occupied buildings and others in decay.

The Mill Store is located in Cordage Park in North Plymouth.  There are several businesses and a lot of health care places and labs.  There is a commuter lot and it's a commuter train stop.

This place was....hinky.  I could have explored it more and taken more pics, but I just got a bad feeling that nothing good would come of me venturing over there, so I stayed away.

So I went back to the main part of the park, near all the businesses.

It used to be the largest manufacturer of rope in the world in the late 1800s and closed in 1964.

Cotton puff clouds!

  1. What is 'hinky'? (as in forbidding?)

I liked the reflection shot of the bridge, and the lovely swan. Thanks JoJo.

It is usually better to stay away from delapidated buildings, in case of squatters or rats or pieces of lumber falling. . .

  2. Hinky....as I use it...means 'gives me a bad feeling'. Yes, forbidding is good too. These days I operate on 'What would Russell want me to do' and I figured he'd kill me if I went into a dangerous area. lol Before him I really didn't care b/c no one cared about me.

  3. I just had to laugh. While I was enjoying all the photos, I kept expecting to see a photo of the table you bought. LOL.

  4. Hey JoJo,

I always appreciate your photos and the accompanying captions. It's like taking a virtual tour. The only thing is that when I go to comment, I no longer get to see your virtual tour. Which means, I have to bring up your posting twice to reflect upon what I've just seen.

    A happy weekend to you.

    Gary :)

  5. Wonder why that place gave you the creeps? Don't think I'd like to find out all alone!

    1. It is very picturesque but I just had a bad feeling sweep over me and decided it was probably wise to listen to it. I'm sure nothing would have happened...still, you never know.

  6. When you're busy concentrating on your viewfinder, always be aware of your surroundings... you never know who's watching you when you're watching something else. Especially if you're alone. Good to hear you are smart enough not to get yourself into a potentially unsafe position. Be careful JoJo!
