Valentines Day Card & Surprises for the Pups

Did everyone have a nice Valentines Day?  Ours was quiet.  Hubby took me out to our fave brekky joint, The Breakfast Nook, in Wareham.  I made him a card using some of the little Valentines that I got last year at Build-A-Bear.

Of course I blocked out what I wrote to him, but this is the inside.  I meant to take pics of the card after it was completed but I went and wrote it out and sealed it up before I remembered!

The day before, we were surprised to receive a package in the mail to Pepper & Sagan from Buddy Gourmet in Iowa.  It contained some biscuits and a squeaky toy.  Because a donation had also been made to a malamute rescue, I immediately knew that my dear friends Heather & Travis, and their adorable malamute StellaBellaBurgerBear were behind the surprise!  I should've taken pics of the biscuits but those got scarfed down right away.  And of course Sagan stole the purple turtle toy.

Pepper was getting mad.  "But Ai wanna pway wiff Purkle Turkle!"

"Mama! Make him share!"

"Stoopid dumhead. It's MAI turn."

So I dug out Piggly Wiggly for her but she was having none of it.  Sagan stole him away too!

"NO MAMA! IZ MINE!"

Happy Valentine's Day!

Not sure what we're up to for V-Day.  Knowing us, we'll have some food delivered, kick back and relax. Which, by the way, is totally fine with me.  If we go out to eat, that's fine too.

I really dislike seeing Valentines Day commercials that guilt trip men into making sure they remember with chocolates, cards and flowers.  There's a Russell Stover's Candy commercial where they are talking to husbands who are all, 'Oh man if I don't bring candy home on Valentine's Day, I'll be sleeping on the couch!' Ugh.  And the jewelry commercials peddling crap quality diamonds under the name 'chocolate diamonds'. We were bombarded with them in the week or so leading up to today.  Russell turned to me and asked, 'What would you like for Valentines Day?'  I said, 'You home safe.'  I don't require flowers that are gonna die and chocolates I shouldn't be eating.

Just a couple Bitstrips I made recently.

I screen capped this off my Facebook because what Russell commented made me cry.  Third from the bottom.  I'm a lucky lady, indeed.  My status was about my swiping one of his sweatshirts and making it mine.  The fact that he has absolutely no problem stating exactly how he feels about me for all the world to see is mind blowing.  The fact that he feels that way about me is mind blowing!!!!!

Really....he's all I want or need for Valentines Day...or any other day!!!!!

Crafties N Cupcakes

This is another Pinterest idea I saw.  I liked the quote too.  I made this during the power outage, and the irony wasn't lost on me that, at the moment I was making this, my attitude was not one of gratitude, and my day had no blessings, until Michelle called and invited me to come over.

I burned off a lot of energy the day we finally got power restored. Besides doing five loads of laundry, cleaning the house and car, catching up on Facebook & the blogs, and doing a bunch of dishes, I made this 'State Love' project too.  I printed the maps from THIS website, then stuck shiny hearts on where I've lived.

It looks good with the PNW postcard collage.

It was my intent to make Mardi Gras and Valentines cupcakes over the weekend we had the blizzard, but obviously couldn't so I made them on Fat Tuesday evening, using green, purple & yellow batter, then iced in purple with gold & green sugar sprinkled on them.

I made some strawberry jam filled cupcakes but the jam sank to the bottom.  Oh well.  I mixed strawberry jello mix into some confetti frosting and it tastes sooooooo good!  Then I coloured more of the confetti icing red and piped those sad looking hearts on them.  They may look a bit wonky but Oh. My. God.  I snarfed one down and it took all my willpower not to eat another!  And the jello in the frosting?  Uh, yes please.

Happy Valentines Day!

True Love Forever.

A fairytale 30+ years in the making.

He makes me feel sooooo good.

All these months later and I still can't get him off my mind.  Nor do I want to.

A sparkly, albeit heartfelt, sentiment.

Russell & Me (although he thinks the boy looks too anorexic to be him!).

I love you sweet Bear, with all my heart and soul.
