Quinault Rain Forest

Did you know there were temperate rain forests in the United States?  They are located in Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula.  There is the very large Hoh Rain Forest and the smaller but equally beautiful Quinault Rain Forest, next to Lake Quinault.  The area gets about 12 feet of rain per year!  It's beautiful, peaceful and so quiet but for the sound of the little creeks that run off the mountains and into the lake.  There's even an FAA 'no fly zone' over the Hoh Rain Forest in order to preserve the silence.
