After leaving the beach, we headed to the parking lot and trail to The Knob. This is another place I'd never heard of the first time I lived here. Some of my friends have posted pics of sunset there and it's so gorgeous. I don't think I could go down there for sunset because I don't want to walk the rocky and rooty trail in the dark....and I also don't drive after dark anymore either.
I've included a couple of maps of the Cape showing where The Knob is located in Falmouth.

We walked on the little beach for a bit before clambering up to the trail.
No idea what that is.
Looking out at Buzzards Bay from the top of The Knob. I was much higher up than this looks.
Waaayyyy out there is the top of Naushon Island.
The view was incredible.
I hope to come back here when things are green!

There were stone stairs going down to the water but I'm a major league klutz and didn't want to tempt fate.

It does seem like it was a great junket. Again, you took beautiful pictures. I'm amazed at your photography skills. You'll notice on my blog I put very few pictures. There's a reason for that. :-) Anyway, I don't drive after dark anymore either. Seems like a death trap to me.

DeleteWhy am I thinking that Plymouth Rock is in Falmouth? Am I way off, JoJo? At any rate, I wouldn't have gone down those rocky steps either - major league klutz I am too. These photos were relaxing though. Thank you for the nice scenes.
ReplyDeleteIt's in Plymouth, which isn't that far from here. It's about 15 miles from my house. And it's so anticlimactic to see it too. I have overheard quite a few tourists going, 'that's it? seriously?' lololol The pilgrims did explore/venture down here. I mean they arrived in 1621, and my & Russell's hometown of Sandwich was founded in 1637.

DeleteWow! What a lovely place. Not like what they call "knobs" in Tennessee--they seem more like little mountains when something is called a knob. Another place I'd like to visit for myself.

I'm surprised you never made it to Cape Cod with all the traveling you've done! You really should check it out sometime; it's worth the trip!
DeleteUnfortunately New England is one of the areas of the country I've traveled least. Other than a few bookings in Massachusetts we didn't work in the other states when I was touring with our show. Hopefully someday my wife and I will be able to make it to that area for more explorations.

That'd be great! Come in the fall....the foliage is amazing although it's a brief window to see it. There's so much history up here too if you are into that.
