Crooked Pond Farm, Falmouth

We finally had a spring-like day so I asked my friend Jen if she wanted to bop around Falmouth with me, playing tourist.  I picked her up at her place in Hatchville at the farm her grandfather started in 1924.  It's a beautiful slice of paradise too, lemme tell ya!

Adorable little goat named Chula.

I can't remember the name of the horse but what a beauty!

Chickens!

This is Russell's dream, right here.

A wee chicken house for one of the hens that didn't fit in well with the others.

The chicks are about 6 weeks old.  So. Adorable.

I just want to cuddle one!!!

Crooked Pond

Really neat clouds too!

  3. Nothing like a day at the farm. I guess. I've never been around farms much, but I've often fantasized about living the life of a farmer.

    1. I don't think I could have a horse...I've never ridden one. And I'm not a farm girl at all, nor am I a gardener. But if Russell wanted chickens I'm not opposed to that.

  4. That was fun. Russell's dream is a loud one, but they can be hilarious to watch.
    Be well, JoJo.

    1. I'd like to try having a few chickens but I'd prefer not to have a rooster, but I don't know if you can get only female chickens or have to have the rooster too.

  7. Not into cuddling chickens, useful for eggs and roast chicken though. Liked the horse and the goat though. There is a safari park here and we used to go fairly often and there was one goat there who seemed to have a particular fascination with Matt.

    1. Definitely useful for eggs. Russell would have to take care of the butchering though...I'm way too squeamish.

  8. When they sell baby chicks at feed stores (and whatnot) they should be hens. However, that isn't always the case, the occasional rooster does pop up. My mom has 4 chickens and she loves them dearly. Once Russell retires maybe chickens would become a more realistic option. The fresh eggs are great.

Oh my gosh, this looks like so much fun! We have a small farm near us that lets people just walk around and pet the animals. The kids loved to go there when they little. Love it!
