Ice Ice Baby!

This icicle must've broken off the mailbox but was still precariously attached at the bottom, to a piece of snow.

Where it attached to the snow

This really fascinated me.

I'm very happy to report that almost all that snow is gone thanks to 2 days of temps in the low 50s and rain.

  1. It did fascinate you JoJo. Good pix. At least it wasn't hanging off the eaves ready to fall on someone. Glad your snow is nearly gone. Most of ours has too.

  2. Odd that it stuck there. Icicles can be dangerous. Do you have leaves in the rain gutter?

    1. I'm sure there are leaves in the gutters. We rent though, and we haven't asked the landlord to have it cleaned out. So far it hasn't been a problem.

  3. Wow. That is like the sword of Damocles I love how blue the sky is after it snows. I miss that super crisp clean cold air.

    1. It's definitely nice when the air is all washed clean, but I'd rather have the snow gone! And that icicle didn't last either..it was long gone by the time I went back out for the mail.

I remember snapping icicles off from wherever, not thinking twice about how it came to be and sucking n' crunching on those all day. :) Now of course, it's disgusting to think about but I don't know. Maybe if it was the right icicle. :)

    1. I'm sure the icicles were much cleaner in those days. I did the same thing. They were never very thirst quenching though.

  7. beautiful! we had a warm spell here late in the week so all the snow is gone. However, it has been snowing all afternoon, and so I assume it will begin to pile up again here. sigh

    1. I'm so glad this melted fast. I'm not a fan of snow at all. I'm sure we'll get hit with a few more storms before spring.

  8. Hey JoJo,

Your photos are very ice. Icely done. Now then, before I make a complete ice of myself, I shall wish you a pleasant rest of your weekend, despite a certain football score that I wont mention....

That was amazing! It must've been from the same snow storm we had. Crazy. A blizzard and then gone two days later.
