Lazy Hazy Dayz

The east coast heatwave continues with horribly uncomfortable temps and humidity, and no end in sight.  We desperately need rain.  Only one day was nice and dry, so I went over to my friend Sue's for a few hours.  She lives here in town on a fantastic piece of property on Bourne Pond.  It's so idyllic that I told her if I lived there, I would literally never leave.

She has 3 adorable, white fluffy doggies that float around like little fuzzy clouds around your ankles.

Little moppet.

Side of their barn.

I loved the way she had the property decorated.

I'm not sure that anyone swims in the pond, but it's nice for kayaking or floating.

Looking straight up at the tree canopy

When I first moved here, I was driving around taking pics and I'd stopped to shoot this barn.  I had no idea it was Sue's property at the time!

I loooove this view from her front yard.

Besides the Canal walk, this has been the sum total of my summer adventures this year.  I'm just not willing to go out walking around when it's this miserable. Hoping for a cooler, dryer August.

Such beautiful photos and a beautiful place. I don't think I would leave either. I hope we all get some relief from this heat soon. Rain would also be nice but I've learned living in Idaho that rain is not something we get an abundance of but like you, we so desperately need it.

  2. oh that does look splendid. I'm ready to run off the dock and leap into the water. Great pics and it does look like they have lots of cute outdoor decor and treats for the eyes. Love the gnomes, of course. Thanks for sharing your visit

    1. I didn't take a pic of it, but she has a pool, which is better for swimming than that pond. Unless the ponds are really large with designated sandy beach areas, the bottoms tend to be really scummy with pine needles, muck and water fowl poop.

  3. Now she could put a bed in her front or maybe back yard. Lovely place. Lovely pix of course. A friend of mine has a dog that looks just like the first pic.

    1. I would have to ask Sue. I wasn't sure what they were. There's the white poodle and the other 2 look alike but I wasn't sure of their breed. They are so adorable though. Fuzziest feet ever.

It has been so terribly humid out. Hot I can handle, but this humidity is just too much. I can't even go to this beach with it this bad. The sand is even too hot to walk on right now. But in a month, I'll be complaining about the cold. Let's hope this doesn't mean hurricane season will be rough.

  16. Who would want to leave an idyll like that? We stayed at Chatham on Cape Cod several years ago and didn't want to go home! (to London, England).
