I May Have a Problem, Part 1

I used to colour all the time, back before the internet and cell phones took over our lives.  I do have a (sort of) excuse in that back in Washington, I had a reclining love seat and was able to spread out all my pens and pencils next to me.  Here, I have a recliner and nowhere to put the pens and pencils, unless I want to hunch over the TV or craft table.

So the colouring books have started to accumulate and I keep promising myself NO MORE, then a new Harry Potter one comes out and I have to put it on my Amazon Wish List.

This is my stash.  My daughter in law gave me the tiny book and Snowflakes one.  The top right is a Jody Bergsma Artbook.  I will have to look up the sites in San Francisco online and colour them based on the pics.

There's a new Harry Potter one that just came out that I have to get....

I bought all three of Johanna Basford's.  These are super detailed.

Since the Victorian Houses one are actual houses, I have to look them up online, and colour them accordingly.

I started Out Of This World like 3 years ago and I'm having so much trouble with the ink bleeding through the pages.  It's been frustrating so I haven't worked on it in awhile.  But my OCD won't let me start a new book until that one is done.

My count is 17 total, with just one started.  I just can't let myself get anymore till I make a dent in these!!!

  1. I'm no expert but you might have a problem. What a great one though. The internet is sucker of our time, for sure. Taking away from our creative juices.

    1. I'm tellin ya, between blogger and Facebook AND Pinterest, I waste so much time online. And I know I'm wasting time yet I can't pull myself away. I admit I suffer from 'fear of missing out'. lol

So these are actual coloring books and not the Zentangle books, because to be honest. They look like you could zentangle them too but what do I know. You better be careful JoJo.. You're fast approaching hoarder status. I know because I'm a hoarder. - Do you frame the pictures once they're colored? Just curious. From the covers it looks like you could. :)

    1. I don't frame them, no. Most of them are double sided pages. I have about 25-30 that I've done cover to cover. These aren't zentangles although the tiny one in the top pic is zentangle-like. Just wait till you see my 'i have problem part 2'. lol

  4. Wow, such a problem. I have one of those colouring books for adults on Outlander, and hubs has a couple too. I love colouring, always have. You just have to get something to hold your pens like a flat tray or a widemouth jar. I would like a wizard colouring book, too. I think most kids never get to colour enough!

    1. I used to colour all the time but I've slacked off a lot since moving back. I think I've only finished about 4-5 since 2011. Usually I would do 2-3 per year. I have got to get crackin! lol

  5. That funny - thanks for taking one for the team, JoJo. Someone has to keep the big, vast Adult Coloring Book business going.

    Happy weekend.

  6. I can't imagine having all those colouring books. I haven't coloured anything in many a long year. I hope you find something to hold all your pens.

    1. Finding something to hold the pens isn't the problem, it's where to put it while I colour. If you saw how my livingroom was set up you'd see the problem.

    1. They really are fun to do! I struggle with colour combos though. I tend to do the same ones over and over. Red, orange, pink, yellow and gold, or blue, purple & green.

    1. They are lots of fun, but I just can't seem to get my butt in gear to work on them. I'm so addicted to cross stitch lately!

  9. I tried them and don't have the patience but my four year old granddaughter loves colouring and using my books makes her feel grown up.
